Hello world. If you're new to HUBpages, welcome. Hubpages is a site for writers. If they write well enough, it becomes a site for readers too. Some people HUB because they want to make money, it seems to me most HUBBERS HUB because they love using writing as a way to express themselves. More than the average person, HUBBERS wish to be heard.
I'm going to die people. Don't feel bad, so are you. BUT, before I die I have some things I wish to do. Come to think of it, you probably have some things you wish to do before you die. I figure better to start now, before I kick the bucket. Why wait? People like to wait. They wait til someone's on their deathbed before they listen, before they show love ... dont wait. If you got something you want to do before you die, here's some free advice .... start now.

I'd like to build financial stabilty for my family. Sounds simple, but as anyone who lives in the real world knows, not as simple as it seems. It's tough to struggle. Anyone who struggles knows exactly what I'm speaking about. It's tough to worry about money all the time ... we're talking the basics. Roof over your head, food in the fridge, health care, higher education ... it wears on you. There's not much you can do except, don't give up, keep thinking smart and working hard. I'm not telling you, I'm telling myself. You can listen if you wish. I'm dying, give me a break.

First thing I think is who am I to tell people what needs to be done? I'm a nobody, but I'm right. Goodness does need to speak up. The problem with goodness -from this modern day philosopher- is this: Goodness is quiet. Goodness doesn't like to make a fuss. Goodness justs wants everything to be OK. Goodness doesn't make headlines. Sheeesh, it would be a tough search even in the back pages. In comparison to a billion dollar negativity machine, goodness is fragmented. Hate makes headlines, goodness goes invisable, there should be no doubt that Goodness Needs To SPEAK UP!!!
I'm going to die, but before I do ...I'd love for my ideas (just a couple, I have too many) to be world reknowned. I would love the world to know that there is an opposite to racism. LEARN - Lets End All Racism Now, I would love them to love it and I'd love them to want to spread it. I'd like the world to know that for marketing purposes, I tweaked LEARN making it LEARN - Love Excellence And Respect Now. I figure if children are acquring knowledge of ending racism or acquring knowledge of love, excellence and respect ... it's a good thing. The All-Star game in Yankee Stadium plays behind me as I write ... I'd like the people to get as revved up about an opposite to racism as they do about a baseball (I'm a fan) All-Star game. I'm dying, we're allowed to think big even though we currently can't fill the bleachers of a Little League field.
I'm going to die, but before I do ... I want to let you know ... don't wait until you're dying to do what you want to do. I'm a flawed (egotistical, selfish & so much more) fellow citizen who would like to make a world reknowned point: Goodness Needs To SPEAK UP!!! Billions of dollars of negativity comes at us everyday ... the stories are terrible, but they do not represent the people. Those stories are the abberations. If it bleeds it leads ... that's media talk. I say, with the courage HUBpages gives me, enough already. Goodness needs to SPEAK UP!!! ... and as long as it's going to, it might as well say something smart. LEARN, spread the word!!!

Vinie .... Thanks, I love that you love it. The idea of 'Goodness speaking up' may sound odd, but if you think about it, it's just basic common sense. Can't wait for it to catch on.
Hate, murder, war make headlines .... I know that most poeople the world over are loving, caring people who have their own problems to be concerned with and don't wish harm on others. To those people, I know it's not in your character, but in this case you need to be a little egotistical .... Goodness needs to speak up .... we must overpower the media negativity (our fault) that we've made a habit of shoving into our minds on a daily basis.
This is not rocket science people, it's as basic as ABC.

I love the way you simplify .... It's all about the LOVE. Yes it is ... and I'm not talking about la, la, la naive world, peace love ..... I'm talking most people are loving people. It's loving people that make the world go round. They're nuturing, they're caring, they're coaching, they're inspiring, they're helping, they're picking up and dropping off, they're putting a band-aid on .... one thing they're not doing, they not getting any press releases.

L.E.A.R.N. acquring knowledge of love, excellence and respect ... is quite acceptable as far as I'm concerned, because with Love, Excellence and Respect racism just won't exist.

I learned at a very early age that I am going to die as well. I was diagnosed with a chronic heart condition that should have taken my life some 25 years ago.
I am still here.
But I, too, know that one day I will die.
Until then I want to make sure I do things to the best of my ability - to make sure that the ones I love are cared for, that they remember me as a kind dad, husband, friend.
So, still living, I salute all of us who have come to terms with our own mortality, and in doing so, have glimpsed the goodness we can spread and share in the meantime.
Live long and prosper.

Glass, you actually understood it ... AlRIGHT!!! I know I'm right, but trying to explain it sheeeesh. I think it goes like this ... most people are good, but we're (the people) bombarded by negativity on a daily basis ... so what needs to happen is that good people in a unfied voice need to speak up and spread an opposite to this negativity. If for no other reason to show/ remind all of us .. what's really going on ... what is that? It's that most people the world over are loving, caring people who have their own problems to be concerned with. It only takes a few to ruin things for te many.
Hate, violence and war make headlines, goodness and love make the world go round. It is time ... with once again the meekest thoughts of who am I to tell people what to do ... it is time for Goodness to SPEAK UP!!! .... and as long as it's going to ... it might as well say something smart.

I'm a whole-hearted believer in your message Ads. In fact...and to some this is going to sound silly but...
My husband is a good man. However, he is prone to bouts of severe negativity that drives me completely insane. I realize that not everything is sunshine and lollipops 100% of the time, but I find that if you make a point of seeing nothing but the negative, that's all you'll ever find in the world. If you can find just one positive in any given situation...then you've won, and whatever is bothering you can't hold on (that whole when life gives you lemons theory...)
So...and here's the rather silly part..whenever he gets this way and all I hear are complaints about the world, life, people in general...I start singing (loudly and off-key cuz I'm not a singer) the song, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." The first time I did it, he kept trying to go on with his negativity...and then without quite understanding it, he smiled...and started to sing along. Now, the song is our private way of saying..."enough complaining...how about some action?"

516Ads, yes we're all flawed, that's how negativity get to us. It makes us self-consciously aware of our failings. But goodness, that's a rare thing at times, but very simple. In a way it doesn't need to speak up, it just has to act. Every little act of kindness matters. No one even has to notice it. You notice it. The recipient notices it. he rest of the world just gets on with its stuff, but it matters, on some deep level. That's what I think anyway. Thanks for a thought-provoking hub. PS I vote for Bruce Willis.

I agree with all that. I disagree that goodness is rare ... there's a lot of goodness, but you're not going to read about it in the newspaper. On the In a way it doesn't need to speak up part ... in a way it doesn't .... but in a way, it does.
I know it's uncomfortable for good people ... speaking up is not their thing, doing good is their thing. Simply, as long as hate makes headlines, goodness needs to speak up.

Great hub! In the monotonies of everyday life we so easily lose track of how short it is and how we must seize every single moment. You seem to have a grasp on what it is that you want out of this life, so few of us do.
Jones ... thanks for reading and commenting ... as far as seizing every moment ... I couldn't agree more .... in the past few months I know 3 people under 50 who have passed away ... all from different walks of life .... all rather suddenly .... one never knows what will happen .... hence the idea .... if one has something they want to do .... stop dilly-dallying .... get to steppin ... in my case .... let the world know how I feel ... which is ... c'mon people GOODNESS NEEDS TO SPEAK UP .... time to start kickin negativity's ass.

I've decided I'm not going to die, but if I were, I would support this approach to my limited years completely.
Goodness is quiet because it's so busy being good, it forgets to talk. We do need to talk up "good." I think we'll see it multiply like crazy, like little rabbits....hopping good all around.

Well written - a message that needs to get across. If we all focused on goodness and forgiveness, we just may find ourselves feeling good about ourselves and change our general view of the world. What sort of a problem would cause be to spend just 10 minutes at the start of our day to do this? What sort of solution would it be for our world?

I'd say war, violence and the aura of negativity that seems to hover over our world is good enough reason ... as far as solution .... it's never ending .... but if one time .... Goodness does SPEAK Up .... it would be a symbol .... the same way a swasticka or a noose is a simple of hate/bad .... LEARN will be a symbol of love/good. The message is so simple, that once the TV cameras come and go .... the aura of LEARN can live forever.
