I'm not a great writer but I like to think I am good. I know I have a lot to learn about proper grammar and my ideas are sometimes lacking. I love to read though and I know what keeps my attention. I like to read varieties of writings... novels, short stories, poetry, informative articles and I think I am like other people in their needs as readers. I like something that moves me spiritually, intellectually and/or emotionally. I like to read stories and novels with lots of description that puts me right in the moment. I have found, personally, that writing about my hopes and dreams and personal experiences gets me in the right direction to creating something people want to read. Here is an example of my work.

I've come to see you, like I've done countless times before. This time is different. I enter this room eager to see you, but the darkness embraces me like a blanket... a soft, warm, freshly laundered blanket that I've used for years and it knows me. My heart knows you are here, though I can't see you. Like the strongest magnet, I'm uncontrollably drawn to you. I can feel your warmth and my heart smiles. Then I feel your hand wrapping itself so perfectly around mine. I look upward... then realize, I still can't see your beautiful, perfect face. So, I close my eyes and wait. I wait for that moment I have anticipated from the first time I saw you. The moment I have achingly longed for. Then it happens. I feel you lean into me, your warm, sweet breath graces my face. As you draw nearer, I feel you in every ounce of my being. My head can't believe its finally happening- my stomach knotted and waiting in anticipation for the most romantic moment of my life and my heart so connected to yours and filled with love only for you... Then your perfect lips, sculpted by God just for mine, touch me ever so gently. My heart melts and my whole self is overcome with contentment in this perfect moment... our first kiss.

This was a dream I had... I had a supernatural feeling from it and tried to use every word I could think of to get that across to my readers.
