The Preamble

This morning, the cable guys came. They came to remove my slow as molasses FIOS and install a nice perky cable package.

The cable guy was a talented man, in addition to installing cable internet, phone and TV, he played the complete theme to Mario Brothers on our piano (both hands) and informed me that the mushroom that has taken over my side yard is considered a delicacy and since it can not be cultivated they get a good price in the open market.

Now, you can tell my by screen name, NJMom, that I'm a mother, and let me tell you... I could use some cash especially if it is literally growing in my side yard...

However, I have been unable to locate any picture even remotely similar to the mushrooms that I have growing.

And So, I'd like your help.... here are my pictures!

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The Conclusion

See what I mean?

The picture showing the multiple clumps is only about 1/2 the clumps that actually exist... and that's only one part of the yard. I have several very large old tree stumps my yard and these 'shrooms are either growing directly on the stumps or on the roots that riddle my yard.

They come up every year, and one of these mornings I am going to go out and they are just going to be orange OOOZ on the grass... So, if they are worth something, I'd like to know asap.

Actually, more importantly... if they are toxic, I need to know!

Thanks
