I'm Turning Alcoholic. How can i gradually get out of this plight?

There is no gradual stopping the use of alcohol if you believe that it is running your life. The fact that you want to stop could mean that you are an alcoholic. If there are any alcohol abusers in your family, that might be further proof that you have a problem.
Although it might or might not be for you, one of the best places to discover yourself in terms of alcohol is contacting Alcoholic Anonymous in your area. You can do this by calling information and getting their local inter group number. You might also want to call one of the alcohol abuse hot lines that you can also get from information.
If you think that you have a problem now...Take care of it as soon as you can. The abuse of alcohol can lead to major depression and many physical disorders.
For those that have alcohol problems, the abuse of it can lead to many, sometimes slowly or quickly, poor changes in one's personality.
Your best bet is to make that call so you can get professional advice. Good Luck!

doodsdpogi: it's all about the same, in terms of drinking enough of the stuff...Try will power...And perhaps the best could be to try pray and meditation according to your religious beliefs. Good luck. Keep in touch.
Searching for 'milder' drinks is one of the characteristics of denial in a problem drinker or alcoholic. Somehow, people try to search for any other alternative rather than the simple one (abstinence) when they have become dependent on alcohol.
If not caught in time, life will become more complicated than ever - more excuses will crop up and abstinence will become ever harder to accomplish.
Strategically, if one can remove alcohol for an extended time, this will at least help in determining how much 'obsession' there is for alcohol during dry periods.
If this is too hard to do, then there are some dependency issues, most likely.
I liked the mention of Alcoholics Anonymous in a previous post. There are A.A. organizations in every major city in over 30 countries - and a great number of A.A. organizations registered even in large towns and small hamlets (locations with a population of less than 1000). Alcoholics Anonymous members may not give out their full names upon first contact, but they are certainly not hard to locate!
:)
Try this: all you have to do is not take a drink for the next ten minutes. If you can make it through the next ten minutes without having to have a drink, then make that 10-minute goal "mobile" -- i.e. just don't drink for the next ten minutes. . . (whether the ten mins. is up or not.)
If you have not hit rock bottom yet, then you are not ready for AA, but do try to go. You will see a lot of very happy and contented people, who know how NOT to drink. They can tell you how.

Awwww! Pitt that’s too hard perhaps. How can you stop that craving for liquors? Are there any other alternate drinks that are milder? Wherein strategically, little by little you get rid of the habit. Thanks buddy.
