A simple solution to a complex problem

I live in an area of the country with a high concentration of manufacturing jobs, especially in the RV manufacturing industry. Some of these jobs pay upwards of $50,000 per year. I worked in the consumer lending industry and saw first hand the fallout the illegal immigration problem is creating. First the myth that illegals take only the jobs no one wants is B. S. I talked to many clients that worked in these plants and they told me how these illegals would work for cash under the table for a lot less than their fellow workers. That undermines the wage stucture for those who live here and go to work everyday legally. The goal of many of these illegals is to come here and work and send the money back home to relatives in Mexico. With the money they make here they can go back there and live like kings.

The law is the law

social security numbers are being traded like I used to trade basedball cards as a kid. You've heard the stories about the same ss# being held by 30 people. Why should I care, you ask? When illegals get sick they go to the hospitals, uninsured we all pay for the priviledge of their medical care. When one of their children breaks the law our over-taxed police and fire depts. respond. Already burdened by rising costs of living we as American citizens must have a systematic way for people to come to this country. All are welcome, but the immigration laws were written for specific reasons. And breaking the law in any manner is still breaking the law.

The cost burden of illegal immigration

One of the basic requirements of becoming an American citizen is to learn the language of your adopted country. When I was in the service and served two years in Japan, I made every attempt to learn Japanese. If you can't speak the language, how in the world can you conduct business? It's not my job to learn your language, you already broke the law by crossing the borders and now you want everyone to cater to you. How much extra cost do you think it costs companies to staff bi-lingual speaking employees, print all employee related matter in spanish and english. I guess I was brought up to know breaking the law doesn't have different degrees of being wrong it's still breaking the law.

Contact your congress person or senator

If you have an opinion good or bad contact your congressman or senator and voice your opinions. If you don't speak up, they won't think you care. The jobs of our generation and the stability of our economy are at stake. If we have no control of the borders who knows what type of person is coming into the country, maybe the next mastermind of terror upon our country.

The solution is very simple

Building walls along borders and keeping hundreds of guards there night and day isn't the answer. The answer believe it or not is a very simple one. It goes right to the heart of the free enterprise system. Pass laws that make it illegal to hire anyone who cannot provide proper documentation of their right to work in this country. And if you do hire illegal, make the fines so high you would shutter to even think about hiring anyone that can't pass muster.

This solution is fair and would cost a lot less than building gigantic monuments of stupidty along our southern borders. Some have suggessted similar plans along with making any illegal go to the back of the line to obtain citizenship. If you want to live somewhere, why would you make it so hard on yourself. The laws are there to help you as a potential citizen learn the languages and customs so you can function better and adapt to society in your new home.
