James R Bordley

James R. Bordley was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He is the fourth child of six. He was educated in the Philadelphia School system, graduating from Northwest High School in 1957.

James Bordley joined the U.S. Air force and spent 16 out of 26 years of service at Dover Air Force Base. His overseas assignments included Greece, Thailand, Korea, and one year in Vietnam at the beginning of the war. He retired from the military with the rank of Master Sergeant in January 1987. He then embarked on a second career as a Bailiff in the Superior Court.

James Bordley joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1982 where he served on the Trustee Board. He was one of the original members of the Sanctuary Choir and the Men of Calvary Choir. James is presently a member and president of the Hospitality Committee and served for many years in the Soup Kitchen.

Mr. Bordley is known for his involvement with the Greater Boys and Girls Clubs, which encompass the Simon Circle, Wesley College, Liberty Count, Manchester Square and Dover Air Base.  As a member of the Prostrate Cancer Awareness Task Force, Mr. Bordley visited area churches to alert black men to the dangers of prostrate cancer.  He serves as a commissioner for the Kent County Parks and Recreation.  In addition to serving on the board of directors for fifteen years, James chairs the Property Committee and for the past fifteen years he has been the top salesman throughout the state of Delaware, for the Clubs Poinsettia Sell.

James Bordley is a devoted husband of 44 years, to Eleanor, and the proud father of two sons.
