In Network Marketing... Why Do Other Network Marketers Make "Perfect" Prospects for "Attractive" Network Marketers
58
Why Would You Want to Prospect Other Network Marketers?
I've seen quite a few people asking why a network marketer would want to attract other network marketers onto their list?
Didi Alcheva forwarded me a question that she received from one of her students at Marketing Merge.
Someone asked...
...If you're targeting people already in MLM, how can it be successful getting them to sign up for your MLM?"
Network Marketers Buy MLM Opportunities
If you're selling steak, don't market to vegetarians. Instead, market to people who have a track record for buying meat.
If you're selling light bulbs, better make sure you're attracting prospects who have light sockets (a 3rd world country isn't the best place to promote light bulbs).
If you can find people who bought light bulbs before it's likely they will buy them again.
If you're selling an mlm opportunity, one great target market are people who have bought an opportunity before.
Network Marketers Migrate Many Times Throughout their Lifetime
It's a definite fact that the network marketing industry is a very transient market.
What I mean by this is that people in the networking industry are known to move around quite a bit.
While you don't want to be taking networkers away from a company or even trying to convince them to join you (that's not attraction marketing) you will most certainly be successful if you build relationships continuously with people who are already interested in the business and what it offers.
You'll attract different categories of people:
1. Those who are happy where they are.
As mentioned, this could change because network marketers change companies all the time until they find an upline that they like and/or a company that meets their needs.
If this category of people are ever "in the market" for an opportunity again they will likely be interested in YOU if they have received value from you... this is particularly the case if you have taught them anything at all about Internet attraction marketing because that's what people are looking for... answers to building their business more effectively.
2. You'll attract people who are presently unhappy where they are...
This is a second category of people who will end up on your list and coming your way. Things just aren't going well for them in their particular company.
- Maybe their upline isn't communicating with them...
- Maybe the company management has recently changed and their values aren't in alignment with this person.
- Or, maybe the current management made a change in the compensation plan or policies that didn't go over well (that happens a lot).
- Or, maybe it's a combination of factors and things aren't working out the way they wanted (imagine that).
You'll attract people who are not in an MLM company right now...
They are between companies and were attracted to your lead capture page and the things you were saying or referring them to review.
These are perfect prospects right away.
Bottom line, if you're selling anything, your best market is the people who have bought it before... they have a need and recognize the solution that your product (in this case, the networking opportunity) offers.
This isn't our only possible target market... but for the next couple years it is by far the best because millions of networkers are heading to the Internet and are going to be looking for people who can help them with it.
This has already started as we can see all over the net.
It's going to continue so build your 'downlist' along with your downline... it will be the most valuable asset you own.
Where things are probably headed...
In a few years after most networkers have ‘gotten' the basics of attraction marketing we'll see the principles being applied to attract home based business seekers who aren't in networking yet... and we'll see more people applying these principles to attract product customers.
As an attraction marketer you'll be able to take advantage of all the trends to attract any target market you please for any kind of business.
Ultimately, it will be your knowledge as an attractive marketers that you value most of all.

Hey Mike, good hub. Kind of a rough subject though because the transient nature of network marketers and opportunity seekers points at a huge flaw of the "opportunity" marketplace. . . that is that people are transient because they are not succeeding in their present opportunity.
Why else wouldn't they stick where they're at? I think a lot of this is due to the fact that some people are just not willing to do the work, regardless of whether the information you're teaching or offering them is good or not. Great hub. ~Jesse
I, too, was asked this question. We work to help people in their business of choice, not to steal them away! Yet, more and more network marketers are finding opportunities that complement, not compete with one another. No matter what business they are in, most are thrilled to have access to new ways to attract customers and team members!

This past week I attracted into my opportunity a gentleman who has been in network marketing since the 80's. It has been great! He has hit the ground running with little training. He is very interested in marketing via the internet which is new to him and Renegade University will be a big help. Thanks for the great explanation, Mike.
Thanks Mike, great information about who is the best prospects.

Great information! Look at that list of tags! I look more from HOW you create your hubs than the information they provide. Thanks!
Great article Mike Great explanation!
The more I teach Internet attraction marketing the more I realize that only a minority will actually follow through on anything worth-while without immediate gratification. What I'm getting at here is that only a select group of people, as always, will do the little amount of work necessary right now on the Internet to attract large numbers of prospects to them. I think what will happen is that they will be positioned with such tremendous leverage that they'll be giving leads away as part of the incentive for others to join them. So even if people never do actually spend the time to build their own web of content, they'll be able to take part in attraction marketing, but just lower on the totem pole, so to speak... and they'll be happy about it. You'll be feeding them leads.
Great Hub Mike! I totally agree with you on the fact that some people just don't want to do the work. I have already run into people that want everything handed to them on a sliver platter in my short time as an attraction network marketer but, the beauty of the way attraction marketing works they get weeded out quite early in the process. Giving us the time to work with the ones that are willing to do the work.
Absolutely, it's a way of identifying leaders and not falling into the old trap of working and spending large amounts of time with the wrong people.
I see now that there are a lot of people who may want to still be involved but on a different level as well.
For example, some people may just want to call leads that are highly qualified (rather than create content and provide value on the net to attract the leads themselves).
As an attractive marketer, you're positioning yourself to be able to offer the highest-quality leads (already pre-sold on you) for your downline team who is either still learning attraction marketing or who just doesn't have the nack for putting value out there.
So I forsee the day when there are tens of thousands of attractive marketers attracting 50+ leads per day, and they have a team who calls those leads for them...
Ann Sieg and many other successful attractive marketers have set up similar situations and even charge for their leads.
Being an attractive marketer is a high leverage place to operate from no matter what the vantage point!
Good hub page.We will all be successful if we keep to our target markets
Great Hub and Totally agree - Many people out there are just not getting attraction marketing - Its all about adding value through knowledge and then giving that value back.
Another great way to help out your downline is to have advertising co-op's for them to take part in.
I've been in business for quite sometime and learned a long time ago that everybody is not going to follow though with everything, so you have to work with those people who have that right mind set, and eventually as always the cream rises to the top,not to be disparaging but its the truth.
Ohhhhhh good Am I ever glad you wrote that and I'm glad i read it I'm a newbie at the network marketing game (kinda) 'n to kevinit9 above I say --Here's my mindset--TENACITY -- now that we've done everything possible-- LET"S GET STARTED Yes I need help, yes I need coaching, yes i need to learn-- 'n i will cuz i do know where I'm goin thx

You are right on, and this happens in many MLM companies. I have not had it happen in my organization but I do know that some of my downlines have joined other MLM companies to use their products at discounted prices.
We just need to be there for other people and be willing to give first and it will always come back in the long run. It always has in the past.
Thanks again Mike!
Excellent information
Great article. It will probably take a LOT to get me to move away from my company. I LOVE it and will probably stay there for life. Low cost and HIGH profit!
Hi Mike- man you're good! Thumbs Up! I'm checking up with several people now who just aren't happy with their UPLINE, seems to be an epidemic of Uplines that don't do any training. There's that "Throwing you to the Sharks" things we always hear about at RU. The silly part is that people expect you to swim, thats pretty hard if you don't even know how to tread water. (Ok add some dorsil fins and its just Overwhelming to most) So I am loving the Attracting the Miserable Marketers so I can throw them a lifeline. TY for all your teaching- CHEERS :)
I agree. Network Marketing is a fluid industry. Luckily, I won't be moving again because I found a company that uses Access Marketing (Network Marketing on Steroids) and the Income Escalator. I love the Money!!!!
