In love while in a recession!
52Loving despite unemployment
My husband has always been the soul bread winner of our family. We decided that me staying home with our child would be better in the long run. It has been a blessing to be able to stay home and raise my own while my husband went off to work everyday to make a living. I'm not saying that it's right for everyone but by the grace of God it's worked for us. Now faced with a struggling economy, less money and more bills it seems as though my marriage should be in shambles with everything else. Not so! Being more frugual has actually brought us closer together. We do more things together. Instead of going out with friends it just our family or we stay at home. No babysitter, no picking up the tabs so less fighting. Instead of driving we opt for walks which is healthy and free. I'm sure life will continue to happen and the markets will pick up and everything will be back to normal but for now... I'm riding this recession out in pure bliss with my man!

As you write I think of a time less busy, less stressed, and I come to recall a 13 day power outage in our small little town. During the day we walked and barbequed (as we couldn't cook any other way). There were no distractions but the ones we created. No TV, or radio, or dvd movies. The company of ourselves was wonderful. We spoke more, shared more, played card games and board games, and read to each other. A time less busy. Oh it was wonderful.
Thanks for making me remember!
