The Metaphysical Meaning of Triangles

The triangle is one of the five oldest symbols, the other 4 being the cross, the star, the square and the spiral. Because of the 3 sides it is linked to all trinities, the most common being father, mother, child, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and Mother, Maiden, and Crone.

Place triangles on anything you want protected. Or draw a triangle and put special things inside it, like your wish list, your list of needs or your sacred statues.

Triangles are symbolic of the number 3. It is a prime number that stands alone.

There are also negative aspects to the number three, like husband, wife and mistress. The Three of Swords in Tarot is a card of conflict and relationship difficulties. It comes up in my readings when relationships are in turmoil, but also when a mother-in-law is butting into a relationship.

Triangles for Jewelry

More Triangles

Ways to get more triangles into your life.

First off, become more aware of triangles. You can carve them into stamps, then stamp the stamps into clay, onto paper, giftwrap and so on.

You can add triangular charms to jewelry. Make your own from wire or beads.

You can make a triangle shape with your fingers and hold it over things and bless them and ask for protection.

You can incorporate triangles into your garden. Make a triangular shaped flower bed, herb garden or cactus garden. Hang triangular wind chimes.

And don't forget quilting. Quilting has tons of triangles in it.
