I hope anyone that comes to my hub will go to this link and report your story to them. They are keeping a running total and it is now over 2,400 lost pets. I am seeing more and more stories about 'dry' food and this is very disconcerning because that has not been recalled. FDA even says the tainted grains were sold to dry food manucaturers. But they won't release what companys. How are we suppose to take care of our beloved friends when we don't know what we can safely feed them. Why isn't the FDA doing more? It is their job to test animal food. What is going on? Anyway here is the link to pet Connection:

I missed work (which I never do) when Smokie took ill and stopped eating - just a week before he was eating 2 pouches of another brand of cat food at a serving and asking for more - Smoke lived to eat...and he would scarf it done in no time flat - While we were at WalMart we saw Special Kitty and he would like that brand too....He ate one pouch then and only nibbled at the second and then the third feeding then he just meowed at the food and wouldn't eat any more I threw away the untouched Special Kitty (who keeps opened cat food)... and that was March 5th, 2007 - He didn't eat again, unable to watch him suffer - we took him to the vet who said the best thing to do was end his life....and on March 7th at 7:00pm and my husband, son, daughter-in-law and brother-in-law all met at the vet's to have him put to sleep. We thought it was his age - not knowing at the time that there was to be a recall. The vet said it was renal failure. All I know is that my beloved Smokie has been layed to rest....he was not just a pet but a family member - and to know that he passed away because of food that I fed him makes me the saddest of all - he would have still been here if I would have just kept feeding him the other brand - or the real food of salmon, chicken and tuna which he ate for many years.
My pebbles was 16 years old great health before all this specail kitty recall , I had her all 16 years she was old my 14 year old daughter, I loved her very much the last 2 weeks of her life was terrible to watch I felt so bad for her , at the end she couldnt walk eat her kidneys shut down it was so sad from a healthy cat to a very sick cat I dont wish anyone to watch there pet died like that, I feel I should be punised for this its like a crime , Im so sorry Pebbles mommy loves you so much I miss You every day

Del Monte yesterday and Sunshine Mills today. I have a bag of Special Kitty that is made by Sunshine Mills that is going back to Wal-mart. Purena claims their products are safe. I will only buy Purena right now. The FDA knew that this bad wheat Gluten was in the dry food supply. It seems to me that the FDA is more worried about the corporations then our pets. Please use your best judgement when selecting food.

He has a list of SAFE food. Good luck to all of us and our pets. The FDA is not doing their job. They are still claiming only 15 pets have died. They are responsible for the safety of our food too and they have failed miserablely. We must all band together and demand change.

we just lost our pet "simba" he was about 15 years old but i am not accepting the fact "he was old", we lost another cat she was about 18 years old and she had had health problems for about year before she passed so i accepted that...but back to simba, how can a cat be healthy and then dead a month later from kidney failure? we feed our kids 9-lives and fancy feast can food. i have recently changed to sheba and good life dry food...its scary cause we have a 10 year old now acting funny....i think all foods needs to be tested not just pick here and there or some places havent even taken the recalled food off their shelves...what is this world coming to, to lazy to remove food from a shelf and to lazy to ensure your product is safe or let's just cover this whole thing up and be hush hush about everything that is really going on behind those doors at their corporate offices with their "corporate titled" individuals. afraid of losing money or law suits? i am just angry our pets do not deserve this!!!!!!!!!!

My cats name was PeeWee and he was my baby. I had him 18 years. He was older then my children. i had to put him to sleep because he had a slight stroke and had nurological problems and lost the use of his front leg. This was before the pet food issues so I know it wasn't caused by that but he was very much loved and was a wonderful pet. I miss him dearly.
