Income Streams can become an Ocean of Income

Income is more than just money
You may not be aware of it but these days time is of the essence. There is so much going on that time is the one thing we can no longer take for granted. In that light most people are trying to so more in the same amount of time and to accomplish more as well.
Working online is a wonderful opportunity to generate several streams of income. Working at a single job is to me like putting all your eggs in one basket. It is one stream of income, it poses the risk of damaging your security (as if you get fired most people are not prepared with a back up job) and your mental health.
You are also 99% sure not to use 80% of your potential in working at one job for one boss whom won't even listen to your ideas for improving the company from the view of the trenches. The other side of that coin is they listen and don't give you credit or even compensation for your ideas, intellectual properties and so forth. They own you.
Working online gives you the opportunity to earn several income streams, even hundreds. If one goes south there are "Backup" streams to protect your interests and pay your bills! This is the income streams to an ocean of collective income potential concept. It works a lot like investing in several different stocks, Forex, trades, markets, high risk, low risk etc.. All come with a balance of portfolio security option!
Your income, if you want to become wealthy has to come from various sources not just one. Period.
The other thing I want to alert you about is consolidation of efforts to save time and raise your time investment returns (ROI of time to income potential). Make no mistake the best incomes are not just comprised of money.
An example is to make an income as a blog writer as I do now. Blog writing and Article copywriting are great ways to make a lot of money, but they also stimulate you to learn about what your writing about. You would be surprised how valuable that is.
I never in a million years would have been interested in or would have the motivation on my own to research either the Thyroid or the Colon but because of my blog job which I write blogs that my boss out sources for his clients to me and others under his employ, I was forced to research both. I came to realize the importance of both in a very illuminating way. I have been suffering years of energy loss and fatigue.. Nothing seemed to help me, in fact I come to realize energy drinks and supplements were making me more tired!
In the end I realized thanks to my research that colon health is very important because an unhealthy colon can cause the body to become auto-intoxicated with very deadly toxins that can destroy or injure your internal organs. One example is the liver which is responsible for converting toxins in the body often introduced by processed foods into non toxic elements the body just flushes out.. But if the liver is intoxicated by the unhealthy effects of the unhealthy colon it won't work right and toxins flood your system making you- TIRED!
The same deal with the Thyroid which is actually responsible in HUGE part for your health.. toxins in the body damage this organ and could make you not only tired but could make you age incredibly fast and you could even die from it!
My blog job may have saved my life but it definitely stimulated me to research what I NEEDED to know, hence my income was good money AND wisdom. This is just one thing, you could generate all sorts of connections, networking, and more through this type of thing.. HubPages doesn't make you a lot of money but it does offer amazing networking capabilities, traffic to a real money making site and more.
If you feel stuck in your job start looking online and find a few ways to make money writing, once you make enough the job will no longer trap you, your security will come from another source and before you know it you'll find that their are literally millions of sources of income you can find right at home!
Just my two and a half cents.

I have to laugh at your poll. Today IS my birthday. But the point is well-taken. We can be our own worst enemies when it comes to success. Attitude is EVERYTHING. I remember reading Zig Ziglar's See You At the Top and his catch phrase was "you need a checkup from the neck up" and "get rid of stinkin' thinking!" I was so taken with what he had to say and encouraged to try to work toward my goal of attending an expensive (to me) college that my parents had no way to pay for. I took Ziglar's advice and applied for 40-50 scholarships my senior year, and with so much practice, filled out one last application in January of my senior year. (Gee...maybe this should be my next hub!). I was really excited when a few months later I was awarded a $20,000 scholarship to attend the university of my choice. I kid you not!
Sweet! patience is a vurtue because we put things into motion by wanting them but sometimes we have to be patient because the resources needed to bring us what we need can sometimes take time, this is the universe trying to get as many people helped in one swoop as possible, and being patient is rewarded 10 fold. Happy birthday!
I've done the job thing, it doesn't work for me, I did gain valuable skills, but now its time to apply those skills. IN many ways I think working for a living in the conventional thankless job sense is a way to give you insight into just how much more you want, can achieve, and are capable of, when you do chase things other than the thankless job you truly appreciate it because the job provided contrast!
These days I make my own hours, work for myself, even independant contractor jobs are working for yourself, and I make more money doing what I want to do, my job changes every day, you can't get this kind of freedom at those other jobs.. but now my lesson is somethign I didn't really have to deal with before- self discipline!
You need another option on the poll: I placed the JOB (Just Over Broke) in a place where the sun don't shine and its all GOOD !
I agree. Gone are the days when people just get up and go to work at their traditional job. So many people now are discovering there are other ways to make money for yourself and the internet is allowing that. It is harder in a way, though, because if you slack off, your paycheck will show it!

Very well put! Sometimes it takes a lot of little streams, even dry ones, to fill a large lake. A series of bad jobs can give you the skills and knowledge you'll need later to be where you want to end up.
