I've been an affiliate marketer online for a few years now. I've written quite a bit of content and used a number of sites in the process. I wanted to put together a Hub that would be useful for those who are completely new to the field of internet marketing, those who may have made at least a handful of Hubs or Squidoo Lenses, or perhaps have their own blog and are wondering how to make more off of the content that they've created. Basically, I wanted to provide a kind of review of some of the content sites that I have used to promote my Hubs, Lenses, blogs, and websites; those which have been very beneficial in significantly increasing my AdSense Revenue to supplement my other online income.

These certainly aren't the only sites out there for gaining additional AdSense Revenue but they're ones that I've personally found useful, and are not as broadly known as many. First, I'll talk about a couple of true content sites and then a couple of favorite bookmarking sites that can provide this additional stream of income and help you promote your work.

Qondio is both a directory and a content site. It was formerly known as Qassia for those who have been around awhile. I've used the site for a year and can say that it has been a great place for gaining "dofollow" backlinks to my site, blogs, Squidoo lenses, Hubpages, and so forth. It has also played a role in boosting my AdSense revenue.

Unlike many similar sites, Qondio does not reward members for recruiting others. Therefore, I'm not promoting use of the site to build my downline or to gain a referral bonus. I'm talking about it here because I think it's genuinely useful and somewhat unique in the online world. Many content sites offer either valuable "dofollow" backlinks to boost your content's "authority" within search engines OR some type of monetary reward; either in the form of AdSense revenue sharing or a small payment for submissions. But there aren't many that offer both; Qondio does.

Users of the site can submit any number of their webpages or sites to the Qascade directory at Qondio. How high in searches it shows up, is dependent upon the "reward points" the member assigns to it. Reward points are earned by submitting original content known as "intel" or by reviewing the intel that others submit. Each intel submitted must be rated by 12 individuals to be published. The more intel submitted, the more points you have to distribute among the various sites/pages you've added to the directory.

As the author of an intel, you are able to earn 100% of the ad revenue earned by clicks on any of the 5 ad spaces on each piece of your content. The author can choose what ads are displayed. Adsense, LinkShare, ClickBank, and AdBrite are some of the common options.

Authors can also select what website or webpage to associate with each intel. A screen shot of the selected website/page is then placed at the bottom of that content to help drive traffic there and to provide a "do follow" link to that page. Authors can also choose to include other links to external sites but they will have the "nofollow" attribute.

Bukisa is a site that I have been using for only about a month. I have found it simple to use and have been able to easily develop a network of friends to help in my endeavors. Adding links to my existing content elsewhere through Bukisa articles has been fruitful. Many sites restrict the number of links you can insert, but I have had no trouble adding four of them in an article, in fact, I don't believe there is a limit. I don't generally recommend stuffing an article with links, but I just want to point out that when it flows, you aren't restricted. It also offers the ability to add video, audio, and photo content in addition to text based documents.

Adding content to Bukisa has been a way of spreading myself around and reaching an even broader audience. It has allowed me to gain a bit of extra traffic to my Squidoo lenses and Hubpages via those backlinks. The only thing missing in this respect, are "do follow" links. Bukisa uses the "nofollow" attribute, thus the pages I link to don't get the added authority from those links.

However, on the side of AdSense revenue sharing Bukisa offers some nice perks. Content contributors earn money based on views from unique visitors. The rate paid varies month by month based on the "Bukisa Index", presumably related to site traffic/earnings. The rate currently, in August 2009, is $3.45 per 1,000 views. Beyond this, Bukisa also pays authors for 25% of the revenue earned by people they recruit to the site. In addition, they earn from people recruited three levels down. Clearly, as we all know, this seldom results in a large income, but it can offer a nice boost to your AdSense related earnings.

RedGage is a bookmarking site. It allows you to create content, in the form of blogs, but it's primarily a site that allows you to add existing content. Like Bukisa, you can add photos, video, and text documents as well as links to your existing content.

It offers a "do follow" link and an active community that can help increase your pages' authority and traffic as well. Art and photos seem to perform particularly well on the site but that's not necessarily it's niche.

RedGage also allows users/contributors to share in the ad revenue. Like Bukisa, it pays you a rate per 1,000 views. The rate that you are paid is based upon your content quality and level of activity on the site. Payment actually comes in the form of a VISA debit card. In addition to ad revenue, users can earn bonuses for content selected to be featured on the front page. Several content items are selected daily. This bonus varies but is generally around $5. In addition, there are regular contests each month with daily, weekly, and monthly winners. The winnings are sometimes the result of a challenge but are often a simple drawing with the prize varying between $25 and $400 in my experience.

One of the things that I appreciate most about RedGage is that I can submit my own content unabashedly. This doesn't mean SPAM is accepted, but it does mean it's ok to submit your own unique and useful content for others to see. Again the earnings here will not support a family, but can be a nice addition to your current income while merely promoting the work you have already done.

The other bookmarking site that I use which has helped increased my AdSense revenue share is Tagfoot. You can submit links, video, and photos. Hubpages and Squidoo lenses are accepted. As you make friends on Tagfoot you will assign tags indicating what subjects or topics are of interest to them. When you add bookmarks, you can then actively share content you've bookmarked only with those individuals you feel will be interested based on the topic. It is possible of course, to add Squidoo or Hubpages as a topic. SPAM is not tolerated but sharing with others who are interested in any given subject area is the key. Like any social bookmarking site, becoming part of the community, participating in discussion, and sharing more than your own content are key to success. However, if you choose not to share bookmarks and merely use the site to keep your bookmarks organized, that is acceptable as well.

Once on the site, a user can begin participating in the Google AdSense Revenue Sharing program by meeting basic critieria. The criteria include things such as adding at least 10 bookmarks in all of the major categories; photos, news, and so forth, tagging submissions appropriately, and participating enough to get a "footness" of 1,000 which means participating in discussions and rating content occassionally. The user is then designated a "profoot" and can share 50/50 in ads that generate revenue from clicks on the pages they have submitted. In fact, they can also earn 25% on the ad impressions for the pages submitted by people they have referred to the service.

Tagfoot offers one of the most active and engaged communities I've encountered but the additional backlinks and Adsense revenue sharing are reason enough to consider joining.
