When searching for advice on life insurance amounts, term versus whole, and what kind of life insurance is the best, it can be hard to cut through the noise and advertisements out there.  It seems almost every company is willing to give you the advice they think you want to hear, just to get you to buy a policy.  And while life insurance advice is certainly readily available, finding it is another challenge all together.  No matter what you age is, if you are considering life insurance you are to be commended.  Thinking ahead and planning for your family is an important responsibility that too many people pass up because of fear, or a lack of life insurance advice.  There are several basic steps in finding information and life insurance online quotes, and with some basic answers and clicks of the mouse, you can get all the data you will need to make a whole life, or term life decision.

Term Life Insurance Advice

The greatest appeal, in our opinion, of term life insurance is the lower rates one will pay as opposed to whole life insurance.  Of course, there is also not an investment element with term life insurance as you don’t get any money back if you don’t use the policy.  However, most experts who give life insurance advice would not recommend using life insurance as an investment plan anyway.  If you take the position that life insurance is simply an emergency backup in case of an accident or disaster, term life insurance may be a good option for most.  If you are in decent health and don’t smoke, you generally get a policy worth a million dollars or more for around fifty to a hundred dollars per month.

Whole Life Insurance Advice

Get Life Insurance Advice You Can Trust

Getting the right kind of advice on whole life insurance is a “whole” different matter because of the multiple issues that come into play. What can you afford on a monthly basis is one of the most common questions when someone starts looking at whole life insurance quotes, how much of the premium do you want to be able to recoup in the future, and how much guaranteed coverage do you need, based on current age and health? The world of giving whole life insurance is way too complicated to explain in great deal here, but there are some basic principles that apply to this and many other life insurance decisions. First and foremost, you need to ask what your goals are for life insurance; do you want to just pay funeral costs and eliminate family debt? Or are you looking to make sure your family no longer have to worry about bills for an extended period of time? Also, where does college, living expenses and possible long-term for your spouse come into the picture.

Getting the right kind, and quality, life insurance advice can be done, but first you need to ask th right questions of yourself to clarify needs and requirements for your policy.

Life Insurance Amount Advice

Again, we won’t go into great detail here on the amount of life insurance you and your family will need, but suffice to say there are many great resources online to figure this out. You can search for information about this directly, or read through piecves of information on an article directory or two.  A basic rule of thumb in life insurance advice is get a minimum amount of coverage that is equal to ten times you annual gross income. Generally this will allow your surviving family to pay off bills and live in their current style for at least five to eight years. Now many experience life insurance advisors and brokers will say you should have twenty times you salary amount, and maybe more. Again, it gets back to how you want your family to live once you are gone.

Spend plenty of time getting quality life insurance advice, and don’t hesitate to have several different policies, some term and some whole life. When it comes to taking care of your family, always error on the side of caution and over-coverage.
