Indian Women:Fashion Gallery 3
69Progress of Indian Women
It is true that Indian womenduring the earlier periods of history (Indus Civilisation), were treated as gods and given equal powers to that of Indian men. Slowly, due to various reasons, Indian women went into a secluded place and lost power and kept aloof from the public decision making processes. During India's struggle for independence millions of women supported their family, and directly participated in the freedom movements and encouraged to fight against the British rulers.
Personally, I feel that Indian Women have progressed a lot since Indian Independence. The days of suppression were finally a distant memory for 90% of the country women. Indian women need to realise that there is no one to stop their progress and there are unlimited potential available for their growth.
Having the first woman preseident for the first time (Year 2007), India surely marches ahead in the women's liberation with positive attitude. One day, there will not be a talk about women's liberation or women's freedom.

Indian women are making great inroads. They have become equal partners with men. Things are changing for the better but more is needed to be done.
Yes. these pictures are true. But, how much percentage of Indian women these models and actresses represent? Are these people the real represenntatives of crores of Indian girls like you.? They trade their beauty, which is a western trend.
Society is dynamic...all peoples are changing globally so it isn't just an Indian issue. This is a great hub;at least it has helped some of us appreciate the beauty of Indian women and we are just beginning to see the great promise they hold for the future. Well done Sailini.
I agree with you Prasad sir, I can not possibly demonstrated Indian Fashion with real family women - who is ready to do it? I am also reluctant because of my family values and I dont have many pretty pictures of me.
Thanks Soyelude. You need to come to India, live here to marry an Indian girl. I am sure you will be lucky to find your best match here in our country :-)

Congrats on another great hub and I have 2 comments
1) I really enjoyed the story about the pebble and it reminded me of a similar story found in Sun Tzu- The art of war about 3 horses.
2) I also find it hard to believe you ever taken a bad picture :-)
