Indian Artists Honoured at Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globe awards announced at NewYork selected Slumdog Millionaire as the best drama. Earler, it had won five awards at the Critics Choice awards on January 8,2009. This time, the film has bagged all the categories it was nominated for- Best Director( Boyle), Best Screenplay( Simon Beaufoy), Best drama and last but not the least, Best Music Director (our own A R Rahman).

A R Rahman has thus become the first Indian in the History of Golgen Globe awards to get it. Addressing the gathering after recieving the award, the musical maestro thanked the fellow musicians at chennai and the crew of Slumdog millionaire for giving him the opportunity to work in the film.

Shah Rukh Khan was also present at the Golden Globe awards. It is for the first time that an Indian actor was invited to give away the prizes. Actors  Dev Patel, Anil Kapoor and Frieda Pinto were also at the ceremony. Frieda is prehaps one of the few Indian models who debuted with a hollywood film and her performance in the film has proved to the spectators that she is a promising actress.
