Burgers and Slaw
Who doesn't love a cookout? Of course, it's not easy to cookout when you can't eat many of the goodies associated with it. This is a traditional cookout meal with a non-traditional twist-- Angus beef patties served with colorful steamed veggies.
Ingredients:
- Angus beef patties (Go HERE for the recipe, or you can probably get pre-made patties to cook.)
- Several cabbage leaves
- 4 organic radishes
- 4-6 organic baby carrots
- 3 Tbs. butter
- Chicken broth
- salt
- pepper
- Small handful of raw oatmeal
Directions:
- Cook or reheat Angus beef patties. Set aside.
- Rinse carrots and radishes.
- Cut carrots into quarters.
- Cut radishes into eighths.
- Roll cabbages into cigar shapes and tear in smaller pieces.
- In a small saucepan, heat butter.
- Add veggies to the melted butter.
- Moisten with chicken broth.
- Add salt and pepper.
- In your hand, crush oatmeal as much as you can.
- Sprinkle oatmeal over vegetables. Stir through. This is a slight thickening agent as well as added nutrition.
- Serve with the remaining juices on top.
