We can have 40,000,000 Mold per sq inch growing on a typical cooling coil.

How healthy is your Air-Conditioning Environment?

Are you suffering from allergies and sinuses like health problems? Do you feel tired when you get up in the morning and have a blocked nose or an itching throat? If the answer is yes then I'll tell you, your air-conditioning system is the culprit.Your air-conditioner has actually become a perfect breeding site for bacteria, mold, fungus, sounds scary and weird but is true.

Let me explain what is actually happening with your air-conditioning system. Outside air that enters your air-conditioner as we all know is warm, moist & carrying pollutants. Our air-conditioning system converts this moist, warm air to cool & dry air providing us with the required comfort. Also most of the air-conditioners are equipped with filters that blocks the dustparticles, pollutants in the air from entering our air-conditioned space, thereby providing us with clean air too.

Herein lies the hidden problem.Filteration system present in your air-conditioner, however efficient they are has certain limitations. They are incapable of filtering micro organisms like mold, bacteria present in the air,as a result they escape through the filter and find their way into the air-conditioned space, thereby filling our body with these micro-organisms, resulting in allergies like runninng nose, blocked nose, headcahe, breaking down our otherwise healthy immune system.

Petri-dish to test growth of bacteria, mold in your air-conditioner

To prove the above explanation, one can actually carry out a test using a petri-dish filled with a jelly like substance & samples taken from the cooling coil of your air-conditioner. Once the sample is taken the petridish is sealed and left untouched for a period of 48 -72 hrs. If the cooling coil of your air-conditioner is infected the sample will definitely show growth of micro-organisms

What is the Solution to all these problems

The solution to all the above problems is to use state of the art technology called UV-C, a type of ultra violet energy in the 260-nanometer frequency. The 'C' wavelength is the most germicidal in the UVC spectrum, targetting the DNA of these micro-organisms like mold ,bacteria, viruses causing their cell death and preventing them from multiplying.

The pictures on the right show an air-conditioner is cleaned from its bacteria and mold build up through installation of UVC Lamps.

Summary

So we have seen how quality of indoor air that we breathe can be improved to pure & healthy air using UV-C technology. It is an affordable and almost negligibe maintenance cost technology.

To summarize, this amazing technology 1) Kills molds, fungus & bacteria in your air-conditioned air 2) Minimizes allergy causing irritants & 3) Improves indoor air quality by eliminating bad odor providing healthy and hygenic air to breathe.

Check out this website called www.steril-aire.com which will provide you with an exhaustive information on UVC Lamps. Sterilaire is the world's leading manufacturer of UVC Lamps providing indoor air of utmost quality.
