Overview

Nestle Good Start Protect Plus is designed to help support a healthy immune system. It does this in a way no other infant formula is doing, and that is by including probiotics (I'll explain later in the article.) Also offers complete nutrition for a growing infant, and is easy to digest.

This formula was formerly known as Nestle Good Start Supreme Natural Cultures DHA & ARA.  The new name Nestle Good Start Protect Plus took effect in March 2009.

Personal Testimony

I have used this formula for both of my children. With my first daughter she just seemed to be excessively gassy, and had a lot of tummy grips. She also caught every cold bug that came a long.  She started on Similac and then her peditrician recomened Enfamal Gentle Ease. That started helping with the gas and tummy problems but she was still consitantly sick. I had been told and reading that she needed a probiotic, but I was woried about trying to figure out how much probiotic to add to her formula. Then one day in the store I found Nestle Good Start Natural Cultures. Eurika there was what I had been wanting all along. I started using it for her when she was 4 months old. She quit catching colds and the tummy problems went away. She drank Natural Cultures untill she was 1 year old. And to this day she hasn't had a cold since.

With my second daughter she was born 3 months prematurely, and didn't come home for 2 1/2 months. When she came home she was on a special higher calorie preemie formula and breastmilk. She was so constipated and gassy. So I started asking her doctors if they thought it would be ok for me to start using Nestle Good Start Natural Cultures. Most of them had never heard of this formula and were not very comfortable with me switching her, mainly because it was a regular calorie formula instead of a higher calorie. One day I was talking with her Home Health Nurse (they checked her Oxygen stats and weight gain once a week.) about using Natural Cultures, and told her that the doctors weren't sure because of it being a lower calorie. The home health nurse told me that they had the conversion to mix it at the same calorie as the special preemie formula. So I imediately switched her and her bowel problems cleared up. She also went through the end of the cold season without catching anything.

I swear by this formula. It usually costs a little more. But with less trips to the Doctors office it is well worth the price!

Yes It is a little more expensive

Breatfeeding is best for babies, but when you can't do that for what ever reasons. Nestle Good Start Protect Plus Infant formula is an excellent choice to feed your baby.

If you have ever priced Nestle Good Start Protect Plus you know that it is fairly expensive and with the economy today we need all the help and discounts we can get.  I have found a medical site selling it in by the case of 6 cans for 141.00 dollars. Not only do you save a little, but it is delivered to you. And I can only speak for myself but my daughter uses 5-6 cans every month. So it comes out perfect

Great explanation of Nestle Good Start Protect Plus Infant formula. I have many patients that are on this formula, and I hear good things about it. I especially like that probiotics are included.
