World Health Organization has now recorded 89,921 cases of Influenza A (H1N1) infected worldwide, including 382 deaths. Bosnia and Hezegovina, Malta, Palau, and Uganda are the new countries that recently reported their first cases of human swine flu.

July 1, 2009 Influenza A (H1N1) Update

July 1, 2009, the second half of the year has entered, and yet both the cure and the vaccine to battle Influenza A (H1N1) still remains elusive. And while the virus spreads, more and more people get infected and death toll increases. The World Health Organization has reported today 77,201 cases worldwide, including 332 deaths.

FOC France New Caledonia, Kenya, Mauritius, Myanmar, and Saint Lucia had their first cases of the human swine flu.

June 15, 2009 Influenza A (H1N1) Update

World Health Organization reports 35,928 of laboratory confirmed Influenza A (H1N1) infection in 76 countries around the world. Casualties climbed to 163. Morroco and West Bank and Gaza Strip are the two countries to have reported their first cases of A (H1N1).

United States of America, reporting no cases for the past several days, has now given an update. The country's human swine flu cases reached 17,855, including the 4,638 new cases reported to WHO.

June 01, 2009 A (H1N1) Update

The dreaded Influenza A (H1N1) virus has now spread to 62 countries. In just a week, it affected additional 16 countries in the different parts of the world. And after only two days, from 15,510 cases, 99 deaths on the 29th of May, World Health Organization now has in its official report 17,410 laboratory confirmed cases of the human swine flu, including 115 deaths.

Bahamas, Bolivia, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Jamaica, Paraguay, Venezuela and Vietnam are the latest countries to have confirmed human swine flu cases.

May 27, 2009 Influenza A H1N1 Update

Human swine flu or Influenza A (H1N1) virus is now affecting 48 countries with 13, 398 reported cases worldwide, including 95 deaths.

Mexico, from which human swine flu was first detected now has 4,541 cases, including 83 deaths (3 of the casualties died yesterday). However, United States still has the highest numbers of A H1N1 cases with 6,764 including 10 deaths.

Australia A H1N1 Update

The number of confirmed cases of human swine flu in Australia has doubled to 61 in just 24 hours, federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon says.

As of 10 AM, Victoria had 33 cases, NSW 18, Queensland 5, South Australia 3,
Western Australia 1 and the ACT 1, she told reporters in Canberra.

At the same time on Tuesday, the count stood at 31.

May 26, 2009 Swine Flu A (H1N1) Update

New York City Confirmed 2 New Deaths on Swine Flu

Two more New York City residents died on Influenza A (H1N1) infection. A 41-year-old woman from Queens and a 34-year-old man from Brooklyn, both have underlying medical conditions when they contracted swine flu. Now, NYC has 4 total number of fatalities related to the disease according to Dr.Thomas R. Frieden on Tuesday afternoon.

United States of America now has 12 casualties from the total of 94 deaths worldwide.

Bahrain, UAE Reports 1st Swine Flu Case

The Gulf Kingdon of Bahrain reported its first confirmed case of Influenza A (H1N1) infection on Tuesday. As of now, the patient is isolated and is undergoing treatment.

"The first case is a young Bahraini man of 21 who has returned from studying in New York," ministry spokesman Adel Abdullah told AFP.

May 25, 2009 Influenza A (H1N1) Update

Honduras, Iceland, and Kuwait now have Influenza A (H1N1) cases, making the affected countries 46. According to World Health Organization, there is a total of 12, 515 laboratory confirmed cases of the dreaded flu infection, including 91 deaths.

May 23, 2009 AH1N1 Update

Influenza A(H1N1) virus also known as swine flu has now struck 43 countries, reaching 12, 022 laboratory confirmed cases. Russia is the latest country to have reported A (H1N1) case.

The widespread epidemic is expected to affect more countries in the coming days. This will surely keep the people in scrub uniforms as well as the governments.

May 22, 2009 AH1N1 Update

Another country, the Philippines, have officially reported it's first case of swine flu. As of today, the epidemic has reached 11,168, including 86 deaths, in 42 countries worldwide.

Philippine Department of Health confirmed the country's first case of the dreaded Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Thursday night. The infected is a 10-year old girl who arrived in the country on 18th of May after a trip in US and Canada, and showed symptoms the day after arrival.

May 20, 2009 AH1N1 Influenza Update

Greece is now the 41st country to have officially confirmed Influenza A (H1N1) infection. As of today, there are 10, 243 cases worldwide, including 80 deaths.

The actual number may be higher.

The Story Behind - After the second test done on the first case of swine flu in Greece, it has been confirmed that the country has it. The flu strain that entered Greece with a Greek man who travelled from the United States.

The Greek Health Ministry has said the country has enough 'strategic stocks' of Tamiflu and other antivirus medicine to treat 12 percent of the country's 11 million population. Two hospitals in Athens were equipped to treat swine flu patients.

Influenza AH1N1 Tops 10,000 Cases Worldwide

The number of confirmed H1N1 flu cases worldwide surpassed 10,000, the World Health Organization said Tuesday.

Commonly known as swine flu, the outbreak has sickened 10,176 people and caused at least 80 deaths, mostly in Mexico, the organization said. The actual number of people affected may be higher, as it takes time for national governments to confirm cases and report them to the global body. -CNN

May 18, 2009 AH1N1 Report

World Health Organization penned a total of 8829 cases of A (H1N1) influenza from 8480 yesterday.

Chile is the 40th country to have reported laboratory confirmed case of influenza A (H1N1) infection.

Chile's health minister confirmed on Sunday the country's first cases of the H1N1 flu virus in two Chilean women. However, Deputy Health Minister Cecilia Morales reported another case, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 5. An 8-year old boy, studying in the same school where a 6-year old student was already diagnosed, is the latest.
