Children who are raised in the entertainment industry often trade the joys of childhood for fame and riches. This is mostly the choice of the parents and the children go along because it is what they are told to do. In the beginning it is fun to be known, but most often the pressure of success over shadows the talent and bright futures crumble.

Skylar Deleon was a child actor who turned criminal. At age 14 he was on the hit TV series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers". His part was non-speaking and his career soon faltered. At age 29 he admitted to the murder of a Arizona couple by handcuffing them to a boat anchor and tossing them into the Pacific. This was not his first criminal offense. He killed another man in 2003 over $50,000 and he had a prior arrest for burglary.  In April 2009 he was sentanced to death for his crimes.

Danielle Fischel, fomer star of ABC's series "Boy Meets World" was arrested in 2007 for a drunk driving warrant. She was working for the Tyra Banks Show at the time. In 2006 she was a spokesperson for Nutrisystem after having lost 20 pounds.

Lindsey Lohan began her career in commercials. At age 11 she landed the role as the twins in "Disney's The Parent Trap". Immediately she was slated as an up and coming cutest thing. With her role in "Mean Girls" she showed potential to grow past her child star image. Then came the sex and drug scandals and the many visits to rehab. Now she is labeled a Hollywood joke and was recently fired from her role in an upcoming Jack Black movie.

Brittany Spears got her start on the "Mickey Mouse Club". From their she became a teen singing sensation. She married K-fed, had kids, and then divorced. Then her problems with alcohol started and she ended up loosing custody of her children. From their she continued to make a spectacle of herself in the public eye and was portrayed as a bad girl gone freakshow in the media. In 2009 she has yet again attempted another comeback.

Maureen McCormick played Marcia on "The Brady Bunch". She developed a cocaine addiction and battled depression. In 2008 she released her tell all book "Surviving Marcia Brady", with the hopes that it would be turned into a movie.

Tatum O'Neal was a child star of "Little Darlings". She was also on the second season of "Dancing with the Stars". In June of 2009 she was arrested for allegedly trying to buy crack cocaine from a street dealer. She has battled her addiction to drugs for years and in the Nineties admitted to using heroine.

Adam Rich was a child star in the series "Eight is Enough". He had a terrible time coping after the series ended. Throughout the eighties and nineties he had a string of arrests involving drugs, breaking and entering and shoplifting. In 2003 he was charged with DUI. He was in David Spade's movie "Dickie Roberts", also in 2003.

Brad Renfro who starred in the movie "The Client" when he was 12 years old died 1/16/08 at age 25.  He was found dead in his Los Angeles home after a long battle with drugs and alcohol.  The movie that also starred Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones made it's debut in 1994.

Mackenzie Phillips was on the show "One Day at a Time".  In October 2008, she pled guilty to drug posession charges and a Judge ordered her to enter rehab.  This was Phillips tenth time to enter rehab.  She was arrested in a Los Angeles Airport and where she was found carrying what appeared to be coccaine, heroine, baggies and balloons.

Corey Feldman starred in "Stand By Me", "The Lost Boys", and "License to Kill".  After his career hit a lull he became addicted to heroine and cocaine.  He was at one time $150,000 in debt and faced prison time for posession charges.  Corey Haim, who was also in "Lost Boys" also battled drug addiction and trouble with the law.  At one time he was charged with threatening the life of his manager.

Dana Plato starred in "Different Strokes".  In 1991 she was arrested for robbery in 1991.  Her co-star Todd Bridges, was cocaine posession  and was at one time aquitted of shooting his crack dealer.  Gary Coleman sued his parents for taking his salary from the show.  He later filed bankruptsy and is now completely out of the public spotlight.

Joe Pichler starred in the movie "Varisty Blues".  He played James Vanderbeek's younger brother, Kyle Moxon.  He has been missing since January 5, 1006.  His vehicle was found abandoned behind a restaurant in Bremerton, WA.  Police found a note that they considered a suicide note inside the vehicle.  His family members are unwilling to accept this and state that the note was nothing more than a sad poem that was just found with his stuff.  If you have any information you are encouraged to contact Bremerton Police.  He worked as a phone tech for Nextel and another phone company. He had several television and movie roles.

I can't imagine how a kid could not have problems. Thinking of myself as a teenager if I suddenly had big money and istant access to anything I wanted; I would have been in some big trouble.

Hi Pete. I agree with you completely. It's too bad they can't find away to make that industry easier for kids who participate in it. These outcomes are really sad.
