It is Defined as "a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of insects or bugs". Insectophobia is the abnormal fear of or aversion to insects and similar arthropods, and even other "bugs", such as worms. Commonly, this condition might be referred to as the "fear of insects or bugs". This condition causes a slight to severe emotional reaction, a form of anxiety or a panic attack.

Some Tips to Overcome from fear of Insects

1) Get some bug spray, just waste the time on the computer reading up about it and mediate. Talk to people about it, face to face.

2) Have someone tape your eyes wide open so you can not blink like in a Clockwork Orange and sit like that in a chair in front of the TV, utterly prostrate and incapacitated, your arms and legs stuck to the chair and the chair stuck to the ground. stay in this position for 24 hours straight while the TV is on the Animal Planet the entire time.

3) You can't get over your fears that fast it takes some time or therapy to get rid of your fears or just face them let them crawl on you and mabey you wont find it too bad.

4) Can try Systematic desensitization. Which is a type of behavior modification. You can start off by sitting and closing your eyes and visualize your fear. Do this until you are comfortable. Then look at a picture of your fear. Then gradually work your way up so that you can see insects in real life. Maybe when your comfortable with that, maybe you can pick up an insect. It's gradually getting to the step where you want to be comfortable with.
