Insight Into You #2: You Want to Be Here
54Please visit the Insight Into You Series hub for the complete list of this series, which is based on my interpretation of two books: The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther & Jerry Hicks and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I recommend reading all of the hubs in the series to receive the full benefit. Thank you ~
Of Course...
Many of you are thinking, "Yes, I love life!" while others are thinking, "I'm here and I'm pretty happy, but I don't like this or that about my life," and still others are saying, "Wait, I'm here and I'm not so sure I do want to be here, what are you talking about anyway?!" Bottom line, to be really blunt, you do currently want to be living life because you haven't done yourself in. (Of course, if you are considering that I highly suggest you seek help).
So you're here and you started this life in your body. You have a desire to live and you want to enjoy your life. Are you liking it? Are you staying informed? Does the news get to you sometimes? You know, how it focuses mostly on what is going wrong? Or the newspaper... do the stories alert you to how "messed up" our world is? Or maybe you can see that life is very good and the news is just focusing on a certain proportion of it.
Whatever the case, you have a desire to be living this life, in this body, at the current time, in the state our planet is in, with all of these people you call family and friends (or maybe not so), co-workers, or otherwise.
Contrast
But wait, you say. What about all of this I do not want? Abraham-Hicks refers to this distinction as contrast. Something you also want. Well, you don't have to agree, but I'll explain a little so you can see the value. When you experience what you do not want, you know more clearly what you do want. Even if you find yourself completely immersed in what you do not want so much that you can't see what you do want, when you stop to breathe and reflect a bit, you will notice that there is a polar opposite for your unwanted focus. The benefit of good and bad, as we say, is that we have the power to choose. If everything was the same, or all good, we would have no way to expand and grow.
Maybe you're not so sure. In this third dimensional world, we all have different points of view and what is good to me is not good to you, although we may have some common desires or likes. So in that, contrast provides a "buffet" of sorts to choose from.
So the next time you're unhappy with something, consider that it is helping you know more clearly what you do want or prefer. There is beauty in that.
Notes from Rainbow Recognizer
At the risk of startling readers, I am writing the Insight Into You Series of hubs with the intention of genuine information sharing. Raised Christian, I have always sought more to broaden my spiritual understanding. We all interpret with our own "filter" or point of view. What these books have helped me to do is love myself and others more. To be in harmony with life and enjoy it. Understanding myself from these perspectives has been a life changing experience. I am spreading the word so as many as possible can benefit. Please take what works and leave the rest.

Much fun! You're awesome, Deb! Thanks for the comment. :o)
It's hard to see when you're feeling sad or angry, but those hard times are truly learning experiences!
It -is- hard to see any benefit of pain or negativity when we're stuck in it, I agree! If one can begin to toss around the idea that the fact we experience such contrast is so we have the power to choose and just plainly make the differentiation between what we do and do not want, we can start to make sense of the bad stuff. Of course, that's a personal journey...
I suppose we all need pain to understand how good life is when it is good. There is so much negativity these days we need to see the good and the bad to compare everything.
Yes, Eileen, and there's much more to the story, so keep reading! Thanks for commenting. :o)
I am way behind on my reading. Excellent idea and series!

Thanks, Laurie. I know there are all types of beliefs out there, because I've tried ~many~ of them on. By far, these two books have given me substantial knowledge about myself that I just feel the desire to pass on. I know it's up to each individual reader to make their own sense of it, but it's my way of spreading the word... :o)
Love Abraham! Glad to find your articles. There is so much in these works, many layers and levels of instruction. Seems the more you dig in, the more there is to uncover. I look forward to seeing more of your series!

I'm really enjoying this series - yes, I do want to be here with my exact life. The same life that rattles my cage every once in a while. But as you say, "If everything was the same, or all good, we would have no way to expand and grow." So true! - Deb
