When you’re out on the road and you haven’t gotten enough sleep for the day, it’s almost like driving intoxicated some of the time. Your reaction speed suffers, and your sense of judgment suffers as well, this can lead to mistakes on the road which can lead to an accident, or even worse to loss of life.


2. Increased Chance Of Losing Your Job

Another one of the insomnia side effects you’ll have to contend with is decreased work productivity. When you can’ t think quite as clearly your ability to perform your job’s duties will suffer. Depending on what your job is, this can be a huge problem, especially if you have a lot of obligations and need to think on your toes. In such positions, insomnia can result in you performing poorly on the job and eventually getting fired over it.

3. Relationship Problems

When we’re not getting enough sleep, we are irritable and cranky and this does not bode well for any relationships we may be in. It makes us more emotional and more likely to react in a negative way to someone you care about when things don’t quite go the way you’d expect. This can lead to arguments and thus relationship stress and turmoil.

4. Weakened Immune System

Another one of the insomnia side effects you’ll have to contend with is a weakened immune system. This will mean that you are much more prone to catching the flu bug and getting sick, you may wind up catching a bug 4-5 times out of the year, possibly more with a compromised immune system and the bug that you do get will take longer to fight off.

Try drinking some warm milk or tea to calm your nerves and relax your central nervous system.
