68A Gift Of Poetry...Inspirational Mothers Day Poems
There's no mistaking the tenderness and the beauty of the love in a Mother's face. A mothers love is unconditional, patient & forgiving and seems to encompass everything. (Though I must admit I'm sure we all have our moments....especially when we're stretched to our limits!)
Poems express your innermost feelings....that may be left unsaid...
Just like these special words Winston Churchill spoke about his mother....
I Owe Everything To My Mother....
"She Shone For Me Like An Evening Star!"
Wow! Those words certainly touched my heart... how about yours? I'm sure if you're anything like me you know that no one in the world can take the place of your mother....even if there are times we don't want to admit it.
Just imagine showing your expressions of love and thanks for your Mom with these special inspirational mothers day poems......
M - O - T - H - E - R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.Howard Johnson, 1915, Mother's Day Poem

"No Love like a Mother's Love!"
There is no love, like a mother's love
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth
A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.
When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.

This heart, my own dear mother, bends,
With love's true instinct, back to thee!

A mother understands what a child does not say.
~ Jewish Proverb ~A Mother's Love
Your arms were always open when I needed a hug.
Your heart understood when I needed a friend.
Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson.
Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.
~ Sarah Malin ~My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw.
All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the
moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.
~ George Washington, U.S. President ~There is no velvet so soft as a mother's lap, no rose as lovely
as her smile, no path so flowery as that imprinted with her footsteps.

Inspirational Mothers Day Poems Wishing You A...
"Happy Mother's Day!"
"Happy Mother's Day" means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.
But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love
"Wonderful Mother!"
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.
"Ode To Mothers!"
Funny by Kristin F. McKendall
Mothers cannot do it all
But surely do they try.
Mothers hear the angel's call,
To comfort all who cry.
Mothers for themselves may fall,
For others they will fly.
Mother's bear the weight of all,
For their children, they would die.
A Mother's gift extends beyond
All bounds of time and space.
Her lovingness and nurturing
Make Earth a peaceful place.

"Inspirational Mothers Day Poems Shares A Brief History of Mothers Day!"
Mothers Day Is Celebrated Around The World At Various Times of The Year
Mothers Day celebrations dates back centuries. Anna Jarvis, a school teacher in Philadelphia set in motion the national holiday in the U.S. and in 1914 she succeeded in her efforts.
After many years of looking after her ailing mother. Anna missed her mother greatly as did her sister Elsinore when their mother died.
Anna felt children often neglected to appreciate their mother enough while the mother was still alive.
As an honoring of the mothers Anna started the campaign to establish a national Mother's Day, Supported by her friends she started a letter-writing campaign to urge ministers, businessmen and congressmen in declaring a national Mother's Day holiday.
She hoped Mother's Day would increase respect for parents and strengthen family bonds. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers.
These days we celebrate Mothers Day by giving her gifts....and hopefully some appreciation they deserve!
