Inspirational Videos for the Soul
65Inspirational videos can create those moments in life where we have the surge of belief in ourselves that we can do anything we set out minds to. Think back at the last time you saw a movie that didn't just merely entertain you, but captivated you to want to make some kind of change in your life.
There have been many people who changed careers because of one little video. Some got involved in charity work. Some even started their own movie. These types of moives have this power because they show us what it possible. They show us that if someone else can do it, so can we. They have the power to change lives if you know how to correctly use them. Any motivation or inspiration you get from these types of videos should be used to help you take action towards your goals. It's what you do that makes your goals a reality, not what you passively think about.
I remember watching a video clip about a guy who used to be really skinny. Growing up he was made fun of and no matter what he tried, he just couldn't gain weight. This spoke to me because I experienced the same type of situation. For years, I thought it was hopeless and just figured it was in my genes to be super skinny. But the video went on to show how he made the decision to transform his body. He joined a competition called Body For Life to compete against thousands of other people to see who can have the best transformation. He ended up making it into the final 10. Of the 10 people, he was the only one who had to gain weight. The other 9, not surprisingly, had to lose weight.
When I saw how he was able to change his body in a short amount of time, I got inspired. Before, I didn't think it was possible. I didn't have any proof that someone who had a hard time gaining weight (yes, we exisit) could actually gain not only weight, but muscle weight. After I finished the video, I was inspired and went on my goal to gain 25 pounds. It was tough. I had to completely change my whole diet and how I worked out. It was all new to me and so it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to keep up with but I knew I had to do this in order to prove to myself that it was possible. If anything, I wanted to at least say I gave it my very best.
I wasn't expecting to gain all that much but I ended up gaining the 25 pounds in 3 months! It was the best feeling ever to have people actually call be big! It was like a dream come true and it all started with watching an inspirational video.
One of the best types of motivational videos are ones that involve sports. How many people took up swimming when Michael Phelps won all those medals during last year's Olympics? How many people took up golf when Tiger Woods became a house hold name? During any grand slam tournaments for the sport of tennis, when you see people like Federer and Nadal and all the other top players compete in epic battles for the title, who people the following day go out and play tennis?
Here's a great inspirational clip to give you an example.
Facing the Giants
This inspirational video clip for example, got my inspired and motivated because it made me wonder how many times have I failed to achieve something simply because I didn't give it my very all. How many times can you honestly say you gave it your all? If you answer is not many, it just means you have way more potential in you than you think.
The inspiration that you can get from watching people like these are huge. The problem is though, that most people get inspired for a bit but lose that motivation to keep going. How many times has that happened to you? I know it's happened to me plenty of times. The reason for this is simply because we forgot about our purpose. The drive dried out. So how do we get that drive back? By getting re-inspired.
When you listen to a song that just gets you pumped up, do you just listen to it once and say, "Awesome, not that I'm motivated, don't need to listen to that ever again." Of course not. The key then is to revisit whatever it is that inspires and motivates you and use it over and over again until you can make the actions that are necessary to achieve your goals become habits. Once those actions become habits, it becomse easy. Like brushing your teeth, those actions become automatic.
As the saying goes, "Use it or lose it." Find something inspirational and let it inspire you over and over again. If the effect wears off, then choose another that inspires you. There are tons of videos out there to help you create a strong belief in yourself and drive you to make your dreams a reality. Don't let it go to waste. Below is a link to a bunch of great insprational videos. Good luck.
