Installing Heavy Punching Bags
68Easy Installation?!
Heavy punching bags make for great exercise. In order to use them though you have to know how to install them. Lucky for you I know exactly how to do just that.
First you need to decide which room you want to use it in. Because these bags are suspended from the ceiling you want to make sure that they are in a place that is not going to be in your way during normal times of the day. Perhaps you have a special work out room or you can use a corner in your office or bedroom.
Once you have the chosen the perfect spot measure the are. Make sure you take into account the height of the bag and the amount of space you will need to get a decent work out. This is where things start to get tricky and making mistakes isn’t something you want to do.
You are going to need to drill a hole into a hanging beam, top of a door frame, or a ceiling stud. If you want you can hang the heavy bag from a pull up bar where you can install it in your doorway.
Screw an eyebolt into the hole. Use the ones that have longer shafts and screw them into the end. Use a screwdriver as a lever. Attach each of the chains on top of the punching bag to a hook in the shape of an “S”. Many bags will come with four chains or swivels.
Wrap each “S” hook with duct tape in order to secure each of the punching bag’s chains. Link the bottom end of another hook onto the hanging hook of the punching bag. Make sure that you connect the duct tape and attach the top end of the same hook onto the eyebolt and into the drilled hole.
