Protecting Your Holiday Plans with Instant Travel Insurance

Dangers, in planning a trip? Really? Well, yes, there can be. If you go through a travel agency, or a travel agent you do not know, nor have you done any research on them, read any reviews on their services, and how others rated them, there can be some risk. Many people like to plan for the unexpected, like we did. We were planning a cruise family vacation/family reunion in 2004-2005. We wanted to all get together for what we did not know then was a last family hurrah. My mother was later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 2 years later, and died within 2 years of this trip.

Good Reasons to Consider Travel Insurance

Instant Travel insurance can cover the unexpected

Anyway, my point is, when you plan a trip, you would hate to have something come up that would keep you from taking that trip, wouldn't you? Most people do take the optional travel insurance, which does cover them in case they have to cancel due to medical reasons, or some really bad reason, not just so they dont have to finish paying, or not go on the trip. My own mother and father planned a cruise in 2006, after the one we went on, but, did have to cancel, since my father had to have a knee replacement surgery, and there was not adequate time between that, and the cruise for enough recovery, since the surgery did not go exactly as planned. They were able to get some of, if not all of the payments back from the cruise travel agency, but, had to give them proof of the doctors evaluation or proof of surgery/illness and him not being able to travel.

Funny Yet Terrifying Reason to Research your Insurance Company

Be very aware of the details of your Travel Plans

There can be some risk, and possible great risk with purchasing instant travel insurance, instant meaning it may be unknowingly included in your trip/travel plans without you knowing, so, it might appear as an additional charge that they do not tell you about. Or, worst case, the travel agent or agency is not on the level, and the sell you something you do know want, or know about, and maybe you end up getting ripped off. All in all, ask very pointed questions the whole time, and be aware of who you do dealings with. Some agencies, and travel agents are not truly trained, like all should be.

Very good advice, Knight Astride! I well remember the occasion, many years ago, when we had planned a trip to Florida just after Christmas, and I managed to break my ankle a week before (would you believe by slipping on a dead slug?) Since we were insured, and managed to book another holiday when my ankle had healed, the kids forgave me - just...
