A typical car insurance contract generally extends to a year. On reaching the date of the expiry of the insurance premium, it has to be renewed and reviewed to know the amount due from the owner of the car. But what if you want the insurance for a time as less as a day? These days, on account of the competition amongst the insurance companies, they are ready to offer auto insurance even for a day. The one day auto insurance has been gaining popularity over the years with more and more people requesting for them. Today what was initially possible only through specialist insurance brokers is made conveniently at the reach of the single–day insurance seeker. Multiple auto insurance companies offer the quotes for the one-day insurances online.

Insuring the car for a day is one that is considered a blessing by many people. The one day insurance is sought by the owner of classic or vintage cars who take it out only during special auto shows or meetings. With the cars placed in storage the rest of the year, paying premium for one year is an expensive affair. The storage company requires the owner to insure the car while it is in its custody. So additional payment for a year will result in double insurance, causing a huge loss to the owner. This is when these insurance policies come to the rescue of the owners.

Racing enthusiasts is the other group who finds the one-day insurance prospects interesting. As their normal insurance policy does not cover for practice above the stipulated uses prescribed, racing the car on the racetrack will be out of the umbrella of the insurance coverage. When you take the car on the racetrack, the existing insurance terms get automatically excluded. Under these circumstances, these racing enthusiasts prefer the insurance for a day that can cover the event. Earlier when a crash occurred on the racetracks, the owner used to get the car towed to a road nearby and claim that it was a road accident, requesting for the compensation from the auto insurance company. But this is a criminal offence under law, resulting in adverse repercussions if proved otherwise.

Other group who find these policies to be highly effective are city dwellers who can find everything they need within a walking distance. So taking a policy based on the days the car is actually been put to use, makes it profitable to the auto owner. Making a comparison on the cost of the annual policy and the insurance cost per day for the duration of time the car is on the road can tell the more economical of the two, permitting wise use of the limited resources.
