Intellectual's: Why Do So Many Seem To Be The Same Politically?
63Intellectual's And Politic's
What are they putting in the water at Ivy League school's? I know, there are intellectual's at other universities. For the sake of argument lets put them all in the mix. Add one cup of.......... I never said that! Being so smart one would think these high caliber individuals just might think differently when it comes to politics', and some do. Though you can argue it is a small percentage. "To arms, to arms," the liberal's are coming! And they are here. Many of these very smart people back Barack Obama on basically everything he says. Maybe we should put freedom of thought in the constitution? All liberal's have to say is; "they are wrong." Ronald Reagan was thought to be ignorant by liberal's, he was made a joke of liberal's by saying; "there you go again." I think the later shows more character than the former. Is there at least a moderate professor at Harvard? Lets hire a private detective to find him/her. Intellectual Professor Gates knows how to scream; "racial profiling." Intellectual President Obama knows how to say intelligent things without his tele-prompter. "I don't know the facts but the police acted stupidly." He doesn't even have the brains to apologize. To all the intellects that drew up the Stimulus package, have you ever heard of Supply and Demand? Why have so many fundamental principle's been ignored? I guess it must all be beyond me, I'm not an intellectual. Don't get me wrong, there are many intellectual's that are wonderful people. My thought is; why do they want to change America at the same time? Why are there so many Czar's? Even Russia got rid of their Czar's, maybe we are trying to perfect communism. As our government becomes over populated with intellectual's running everything, why do we have a need to think? The intellectual's seem to be on the same page politically. Why can't they seem to realize the citizen's do not want things their way. The average American likes things the way they are, they want the elected official's to do the simple things. 1- Balance the budget. We all do it at home. 2- We love capitalism. Isn't that how they got rich? G-D forbid they became wealthy in an illegal manner. 3- Stay out of Private business. They can't run the government well. 4- We want to run our own lives. After the government takes over health (that' a joke) care, they will own us. 5- Most American's love the constitution. Our government wants to change it. Why do we keep electing President's that went to an Intellectual Ivy League school? Will we ever see that people do NOT have to be an intellectual to lead us? Surrounding themselves with a mixture of people with different intellectual capabilities can lead to a great President. Intellect isn't always the answer. Wisdom over-rides, in my humble opinion.

So you think it's 50/50, I have a bridge to sell you. Funny the name Ralph Deeds didn't appear. I know a few Harvard grads and they are all the same politically.
50/50?? I said there is no doubt that the majority of Ivy League faculty members are Democrats."
You asked why intellectuals seem to be the same politically.
Because they are smarter? And better informed?
I don't go along with you Ralph. Many intellectual's have little "real life" experience. Have you checked out the "Cars for Clunker's" deal? If you hit the aprove button, you give all your computer rights to the government. They just made changes taking out this wording but are they oing it? The car dealer still has enough info for the government to get into your computer, and you though Bush's patriot act was bad.
I am surprised you didn't tell me how poorly this article was written and that I just ramble. Yup, that's what I admit to. I was tired and over-medicated while writing.
Ralph says "You asked why intellectuals seem to be the same politically.

Broad statement to be sure, lets see would you say that Skip Gates is smarter than the late William F. Buckley? If you did you know you would be wrong but you would be true to your intellectual dishonesty!
Oregon State University has 186 Professors of which 108 claim to be Democrat, 8 claim to be Republican and the rest claim Independent. These numbers are probably not accurate but very close I'm writing this from memory. Anyway, with such disparity among political views how is a well rounded education possible?
The real answer is "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach!" Liberals are scared of the real world and seek to insulate themselves in academia!
Harvey sorry about the picture but its almost football season and I got to get ready!
Football trumps everything and I'm not from Texas. You never answered what city you are in or what college you went? How can we argue about the most important thing there is if I can't laugh at you? Nah, we Oklahoma alum's don't do that.
I see you watch Glen Beck also. Don't particularly like him but I do like what he digs up. Intellectual's can't seperate the two.
I watch Beck occasionally, I think I got that from ORielly!
I live in Round Rock Texas, "Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous!"
Seriously, its just outside of Austin, Where the Head quarters of Dell Computers is located!
College, I attended USMC, on a full ride! Semper Fidelis
So you are a Marine, I'll watch myself. You never told me if you know of the Armadillo Bazzar in Austin? Did you ever look up my friend hoping to replace KBH?
I love "Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous!" I first heard that at Oklahoma.
Yeah I know of the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar takes its name from the Armadillo World Headquarters, my older brother snuck me in once to see AC/DC with the original lead singer Bon Scott. Heres a link. Yeah, I told you that I researched him and liked his platform and would definitely vote for him!
Tex, My fault, old age is setting in. A friend now owns the Bazzar, tell me if you are going to go there. Maybe I can be your new brother.
My friend for Senator may need help. Why not sign up and contact him. Maybe he needs help in your area. He met with Michael Steele and with a Texas Congressman last week.
Send me a link to his site and I will. The chances of me going to a arts and crafts show are about nill, but who knows, when is it happening this year? I mean when thru when?
Tex, No, they have a big restaurant and book top acts. I'm not sending a Marine to an arts & crafts show. If you want to try the food or see a show, let me know. I'll see what I can ddo, he's a good friend and fraternity brother.
Oh! Tell me more about it, hell I'll google it.
You can googgle www.armadillobazzar.com I believe. If you have any question's, I can ask my friend. You didn't answer my questions. Why did your title lead me to shark? I guess you do live in Texas.
Yeah I live in Texas, what are talking about my title led you to shark?
Yeah, I was on your bio page and clicked on the link you told me to. It was an article written by shark.
I looked for my new fans, they only listed four. At the top of the page the number was much higher.
I have no clue as to what you are talking about. When was this?
All I can say is that's what happened.
I still Don't know what link you are talking about or what happened. You went to my profile page and there is a link that goes to shark? I do not remember sending you a link to anything other than the one above, and fans??? Explain what fans you are talking about cause you are confusing me
Harvey may I suggests reading "One Party Classroom " by David Horowitz ? This will give you a really good look Into the subject matter upon which you speak . Because I do agree that most of the kids today are being Indoctrinated with an Ideology that flies In the face of common sense . I too am baffled that these so called Intellectuals really believe In this horse^$#^ they are teaching these kids . Society as It unravels Is beginning to see the results .
Tony, I hate to say this, no nothing to do with you. My Multiple Sclerosis makes it difficult to read, that why I can't respond to many Hubs. Reading a book is very frustrating for me.
I know of Horowitz, can you tell me a few points he makes?
Intellectual's can be fine, I know many. It seem's the one's that teach or work for the government do not understand people. They are in their own little community and we aren't invited.
Many intellectual's in the service do understand, that's why America is free. Why else would so many people around the world come here?

You didn't ask me about a title, man you are confusing me.
Something else is funny. Yesterday I blocked someone on this site from e-mailing me. This morning my rating went from 90 to 78, very strange.
Its back to 90 now, those Hub scores change quite a bit, mine was 93 1 minute then down to 88 the next. I think it has something to do with the amount of traffic going to your page at any given time.

There are plenty of conservative professors and students at Ivy League schoole. Where do you think Goldman Sachs and the other Wall Street Banksters do their heaviest recruiting? William F. Buckley, founder of National Review and Harold Bloom as well are Yalies. Abigail and Stephen Thernstrom, resolute opponents of affirmative action, are both professors at Harvard. Niall Ferguson, conservative political and trade theorist teaches at at Harvard Business School. Bush torture rationalizer, John Yoo, is a professor at Cal Berkeley Law School. Stanford is loaded up with conservatives like Thomas Sowell and George Shultz at the Hoover Institution. There is no doubt that the majority of Ivy League faculty members are Democrats, but probably no more so than at most universities except for Bob Jones University and other religious schools. Stanford is loaded up with conservatives like Sowell, Shultz and many others.
