For those of you following my hubs you may be familiar with the Interesting Coffee Table Hub Series. I've been scouring the internet for the most interesting and crazy coffee table ideas that I can find. Once I find them, I write a hub about them!

Why am I doing this, you may ask? Well, I was sitting around my house one day trying to think of some hub ideas and I realized that I own a really interesting coffee table that a lot of people tend to comment on when they get into my house. If people like commenting on my mundane lobster trap coffee table than surely they will enjoy a series about crazier coffee tables. 

So here we are, another installment of the interesting coffee table series on hubpages. This time I'd like to present the Pinball Coffee Table.

I came across this nifty little coffee table design while doing research for my website Coffee Table Blog. I found a simple article over at Instructables.com explaining how you can build a one of a kind functional pinball coffee table for your living room or game room in about ten easy steps.

Now, the article isn't really that detailed and I'm pretty sure that author just wrote it to showcase the wicked cool idea she had for constructing a coffee table pinball game, but you can get a general idea from it on how to build your own pinball machine for your home. Who doesn't want a miniature pinball game that you can play in your living room in front of the television?

The pinball machine coffee table is basically a wooden coffee table with a glass top. It looks like what she's done is built a hollowed out rectangular box out of cedar or some other kind of strong wood, attached some legs to it so that it stands at the proper coffee table height, and then she installed the pinball mechanisms inside the box and covered it with a pane of glass.

Her directions aren't necessarily all that helpful when you read the article but that's not what is important. The important thing to glean from this is that it is possible to build and own your very own pinball machine coffee table. Imagine yourself lounging around with your friends on a rainy day, or even during a party on a really sunny day, trying to think of something to do only to just decide to stay in and have a pinball tournament on your coffee table!

It's a similar concept to one of the earlier coffee tables I showcased on the Interesting Coffee Tables series: the NES Game Controller Coffee Table but with this one you don't need to have a television or a Nintendo game system. All you need is the coffee table and enough pinballs to go around. No quarters necessary!
