Fresh Breath

Mouthwash, Not Just For Your Breath

About a month ago I first discovered that that you can use mouthwash on insect bites to stop the itch. Intrigued, I decided to try and discover just how many things that you can use mouthwash for. This is one bathroom staple that you can't afford to be without.

Mouthwash

Treat Athletes Foot And Poison Ivy

Apply a cotton ball soaked in mouthwash several times a day to the affected area. For poison ivy it will provide the relief of an instant cooling sensation while stimulating blood flow to the area, which will help it to heal quicker. And mild cases of athletes foot should respond after a few days.

Green Plant

Fungicide Treatment For Plants

You will find that this works great as a fungicide treatment for your plants. Just fill a spray bottle with one part mouthwash to three parts water and spritz your infected plants once a week. Some plants are more delicate than others, so be sure to first do a test on each one to ensure that it doesn't harm the plant.

Laundry

Smelly Laundry

Sometimes, especially during the summer regular washing alone isn't enough to cope with dirty smelly socks. But you will find that if you add 1 cup of alcohol-based sugarless mouthwash to the wash cycle the combination of alcohol and antibacterial oils with effectively kill the odor causing germs.

Toothbrushes

Sanitize Your Toothbrush

Everyone knows how important it is to keep your toothbrush clean and free from germs. And the easiest way to do that is to swish your toothbrush around in some mouthwash and let soak for about thirty seconds.

Clean your counter tops

In a pinch mouthwash makes a great household cleaner. You can use it to wipe down and disinfect countertops and mirrors in your kitchen and bathroom.

Okay this is great, I have used Listerine for insect bites and sanitizing my toothbrushes, but smelly laundry and fungicide for plants, I didn't know. I will have to try these. Very good. Keep 'em coming.
