A quick easy alternative to painting your walls.

If painting your walls is not an option and you are tired of bland walls. Here is a quick and easy solution to add color and texture to your walls. Go to your local garden center or home improvement store and take a look at the lattice. Plasctic lattice comes in different colors and textures. And wooden lattice can be painted any color you wish.

Tools needed:

Pencil

drill/bit

1 1/2 - 2 in screw

anchors

screwdriver (philips/flatedge)

Installation:

Hold your lattice up to the wall and mark in two downward vee's, one on each side of the lattice, a dot. This will be your spot for drilling your holes. Drill holes and if it is not on a stud then insert an anchor. Turn screw into anchor leaving approx. 1/2 inch sticking out of the wall. Hang your lattice on the screws.

Its that simple. If you don't wish to hang a whole sheet or have several spots that you wish to hang the lattice ask at you home improvemnt store if they will cut it down to size for you. some stores will do this. Remember you have to buy the whole sheet so get an idea of the sizes needed for it to be cut down. If you want to cut it yourself you can use a hack saw or a dremel cutting wheel.

Decorating Ideas:

Pictures can be hung on the lattice usung fishing line. Wrap it around a couple of time thru the lattice and also thru the picture hanger. This way you hang stuff with out drilling holes in your wall.

Candle sconces with greenery.

Paintings.

Silk flowers/ivy woven thru the lattice. Flowers can be changed to give a seasonal effect.
