Internet Marketing has undoubtedly made may a millionaire. It is a very viable and lucrative method of creating wealth. In fact, the venerable Bill Gates indicated that

"Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose."

Hence the stampede to internet marketing. Many people find themselve losing shirt and coat, because of unscrupulous marketers looking to make a dollar no matter what.

It is true as Bill gates said, The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.

1. Lack Of Vision

Well has it been said that where there is no vision the people perish!

Success is largely a matter of long term vision. Money is not a vision, but visible outcome of clearly, comprehensively articulated and well defined goals!

2. Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS)

All that glitters is not gold! Internet marketing company scams are a dime a dozen be warned!

Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS), a familiar business buzzword, happens when you are always attracted to the BBD - the bigger,better deal. You invest your money and time into a new idea or project before determining if it aligns with your vision and mission for you business, your family and yourself. In the end, nothing gets accomplished except the steady depletion of your resources.

Do you ever find yourself flitting from new idea to new idea in your business? Are you changing your focus based on the latest industry fads or trends? Do you find that you have started many projects but none are brought to completion? If you answered yes to any of those. Then you, my friend, may be afflicted with Shiny Object Syndrome. How do I know? I too was once a victim of SOS!

SOS leads to frustration, disappointment, negative attitude and burn-out because you rarely achieve the results you desire.

Yep the screen shots of overnight millions, pictures of fancy mansion and luxurious SUV's are nothing but castles in the air! You know what they say Neurotics build castles in the air, psychotics live in them.

3. Monkey Traps Fallacy

Bottom line monkey traps, force you to choose between a worthless shiny object and int he case of the internet marketer, financial freedom.

If you have been using methods to market yourself for 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 months with absolutely no results, you my friend are caught in a monkey trap. Do want to have your cake and eat it too?

To get what you never had, but want, you have to be willing to do what you've never done before.

4. Marketing Budget.

There is a very pernicious and erroneous belief systems, that many in internet marketing field have cultivatied. It is the expectation you can get something for nothing.

Know this, nothing comes from nothing, nothing ever could - Maria (sound of music).

You really do get what you pay for.

Statistics and studies indicate that free marketing methods, low cost marketing methods, take up to 7 times to yield results!

When I first got started in the industry, I enrolled in a health and wellness company Melaleuca. At first i was told that I would only need to invest $29 to build a business. Ok sounds good. Well after I attended the opportunity call, I was told that to be one eligible to recieve monthly commision checks, I had to purchase the $199 kit. Alright then. After which I discoverd that I had to switch to the company provided phone and email service, another $30/month. Ok now I thought I was done. Oh no I wasn't. I learned that to build a business I had to purchase leads (these are opportunity seekers), or become part of a lead co-op that was going to run me $200/month. In addition to that there were on going trainging costs, material costs and convention costs!

To succeed in business you need a budget. A likely budget is $500-$15,000

Internet marketing is about marketing!
