Internet Marketing For Chiropractors
68How To Build Your Practice Over The Internet
Chiropractors have traditionally built their practices by two primary marketing methods:
1. Advertising - newspapers, flyers, TV, etcetera.
2. Educational Lectures - either as a new patient orientation or as a guest speaker for a social club or group.
The Internet has opened a whole new form of marketing for all professions and other businesses. The mistake most Chiropractors (and others) make is thinking that all they need is a website promoting their services.
Wrong!
You can have the best website in the world with all kinds of high-tech stuff on it:
*Flash presentations
*Dancing Spines
*Video
*Audio
But if you don't have any traffic (visitors) your website is a wasted expense!
As a Chiropractor how do you get traffic to your website?
What not to do... You can no longer just blast out a million e-mails or pay for pop-up ads and have people come rushing to your door.
The key word in Internet Marketing is MARKETING! The biggest challenge for your marketing will be winning the trust of your visitors. Who Are You And Why Should People Believe You?
As a Chiropractor you want to market in a professional manor. Specifically you want to use "Attraction Marketing". You want your prospective patients to come to you. You don't want to chase them.
Learn from those who are already successfully doing it.
Many network marketers are using Attraction Marketing to successfully build their business online. There is no need to re-invent the wheel - take what others are using and adapt it to your specific needs.
There are several "systems" that offer manuals, courses, and coaching on Attraction Marketing (often called Web 2.0 Marketing also). All of them have good information and can be very helpful.
My personal favorite is Renegade University. Don't let the fact that when you look at their information it appears to promote affiliate and network marketing, what they teach is appropriate for ALL businesses and professions.
Renegade University is simply the best place to learn how to successfully market on the Internet. Step-By-Step tutorials will show you exactly how to use blogs, Youtube, Hubpages, Squidoo, Facebook, Digg, and other social marketing methods to promote and build your practice.
As a Chiropractor you may think that marketing on the internet would not be helpful, as probably the majority of people who see your website are not local, and may even be in some other part of the world.
That fact is actually an advantage to you:
- You are building name recognition, so the more people who visit your site the higher it's ranking on the internet. Which means the easier it will be for local prospective patients to find you on the internet.
- People from other parts of the country often help relatives; friends find a doctor, service, near them.
- The majority of Chiropractors offer their patients nutritional products, cervical pillows, etcetera. There is no reason you can't offer these products to your online visitors.
Think outside the box - provide a reason for people to visit your site.

Yes. Great Info. Websites need traffic- Free Traffic to be optimized.
Renegade system does that. Thanks Glycodoc
You are so right. A great website means nothing if no one knows you are there. Attraction marketing is definitely where it's at. Setting up a You Tube Channel and blog are also great things to do.
Great advice, even if you are not a chiropractor!

Marketing is extremely important for all entrepreneurs, such as chiropractors. Sharing your expertise, publishing your research and promoting the philosophy of chiropractic not only helps your individual practice, but promotes the use of chiropractic and other alternative wellness activities.
We plan to add a marketing thread to our 2009 Lyceum.

Great Point!
The internet is a wonderful place for local business to drum up business. Don't Google local searches and Adwords Campaigns being targeted geographically it get's easier and easier for traditional "brick and mortar" business to use the internet to expand their reach.
And don't forget almost everyone travels with an internet connection these days. When ever we are traveling we search for things to do online instead in the phone book. If I needed an adjustment while out of town I'd look online first.
Thanks for sharing.
