I am an Internet marketing Whore. There is no other way to say it. There are times I think I would sell my own kids online if I could. It's exciting to write articles or create ads or web pages that make other people want to buy what you're selling. Of course there is that chance they won't buy anything. That happens a lot too. More often than the ones who do buy.  But you never hear about that, do you? You only hear about how great life can be if you do whatever it is they want you to do. I bought into it. I want the kind of life they are talking about. Nice house, fancy car, vacations whenever and wherever. And I am only one in thousands or even millions of people who got into Internet marketing because I thought it would be an easy way to make some extra money without putting much effort into it. Well that's what they tell you anyway when you start out. You know, throw your name on a product, take out an ad and WHAM instant money. But as all new Internet marketers quickly find out, it's not as easy as the gurus tell you it is.

During the first few months in the business, I tried one program and then another and then another, all the while making the same mistakes that doomed my ventures from the get go.  Consequently, I had very little success. After a few months it hit me. I'm an Internet marketing whore! I have web pages and review pages and Hub Pages that are trying to sell weight loss products I've never used, credit cards, natural health and beauty products and I even started trying to sell products to other Internet marketers like I was some kind of guru. I spent hour after hour at night on my computer working the social pages and looking for the next big deal. I didn't care what the product was I just wanted to make money. So I listened to the guru guys selling their products and followed their "blueprints" that were guaranteed to work. The problem was I had no clue what I was doing so there was no way I was ever going to be successful. Oh sure I made a few bucks here and there but compared to what I spent on advertising it was nothing. The gurus knew it too, and they just kept sticking it to me. I was their personal whore. They would send me an e-mail that says this product will be even better than the last one and I would buy it. Why not? It was only $17. It was only $47. It was only $29. On and on it went for months. And I spent a whole lot of money that didn't make me much of anything in return.

There is only one way to describe what you go through when you are first staring out in Internet marketing, it's HELL. You go into this business with everyone telling you how easy it is to make money online. Just buy their product and it will do everything for you, all you do is just pick up the checks. When it doesn't happen, you feel like you are stupid because you did what they told you to do but nothing happened. Then the next person comes along and says "has this happened to you? Well this is what you need to fix that." So you try that product and it still doesn't help you make the money they claim you can make.

Sound familiar? Well that's pretty much what happened to me. But I was lucky compared to some people out there. If I hadn't learned the game early on, I could have literally spent thousands of dollars on useless products that would have all given me the same results. Zip, zilch, Nada, nothing! Once the gurus have your e-mail address, you get an instant barrage of products literally flooding your inbox. So many that some of them start to look like they would actually work. But they never do. And do you know why they never work? They always leave out the most important thing. You have to know what you are doing. You have to learn why people buy and what they are looking for. Until you learn the business, you have no way of knowing what to do next.  You can't just slap some meaningless words on your computer screen and expect people to buy just because you tell them to. You have to find people who are looking for your product. Learning how to do that, that's the hell. That's the process you have to go through and what you can only learn over time.

All of us here at Hub Pages have that deep down desire to really knock one out of the park and create a Hub so special that people flock to it by the thousands. I have personally had a tiny bit of success recently by tricking people into coming to my new Hub with the promise of naked people. (not something I recommend, by the way) We also know that if you monetize your Hubs and that happens, you could boost your bank account considerably in a short period of time. Now I have read plenty of Hubs that are straight out of "the guru handbook of Internet marketing" (I'm copy writing that title so don't get any ideas!) Those are the ones that have very little personality but have 3-5% of your keywords in each section and no more than 500 words and are chock full of original content. Blah, blah, blah. Regular people trying to do Internet marketing for the first time, don't understand things like that when they are just starting out. But the gurus are selling it everyday to them and they are flooding the Internet with all kinds of useless garbage. (Look at a couple of my early hubs or my squidoo page if you don't believe me) My point is, we all would love to make money quickly and easily on the Internet. And sure it can be done. I just want people to know that it's not as easy as the gurus want you to believe.

So please allow me to tell you about a website that takes everyday people like you and me and teaches them how to market on the Internet. I'm not talking about another program or system to help cheat the system. This is the real deal. An actual 8 week program that teaches you every aspect of internet marketing. They even have Accredidation courses for article marketing and pay per click marketing that you can take and become an expert in that field. You could become the next guru if you want. Isn't that a novel idea? Actually learning how to market on the Internet before you start an Internet marketing business.

I hope that I have earned a tiny bit of respect and credibility from the nice people here on the Hub Pages so that you will believe me when I say that I feel Wealthy Affiliate University is the place to go if you want to make money on the Internet. I hate that I had to go through Hell before I figured out what to do and I don't think it's right that others should have to go through it either. On the other hand, I'm glad I did go through it so that maybe I can help others not have to go through what I did, or worse.

So I'm asking you to join my little crusade to get as many newbies off the Internet and back to school so they can learn how to play the game right. Together we can stop the gurus from taking advantage of other unsuspecting people who are just looking for a way to make some extra money.
