Remote Access

The Internet allows computer users to easily connect other computers, even remote locations being in the world. This remote access can be done in a secure, with authentication and encryption of data, if necessary. A VPN is an example of network for this purpose.

This allows new ways of working out of the joint office. Whether at home or on a business trip, a person can access your desktop environment of the service, with access to applications, email and other data.

Virtual Network Computing (VNC) is a protocol widely used by home users for performing remote access of computers. With it you can use all the features of a computer from another through a virtual work area. All the human-computer interface in a computer, such as using the mouse and keyboard, is reflected in another computer.


Collaboration

The low cost and very easy to make collaborative work and sharing of ideas over the Internet easier. Version Control Systems manage the collaboration between several people, keeping a history of work and effort to ensure that an accidentally defeat the effort of others.

The chat, instant messenger and social networking technologies that are also using the Internet as a medium of exchange of ideas and collaboration. Even the mail is taken today as a tool for collaborative work. Although widely used in corporate environments, are losing ground among users for personal services such as instant messaging and social networks due to the dynamism and variety of options provided by these two.

Another application of collaboration in wiki systems are the Internet, using the World Wide Web to achieve collaboration, providing tools such as version control system and authentication of users for the online edition of documents.
