The internet strarted as a communication network for researchers and universities in the 60's.

Internet became popular in the 80's because in enables people to send email fast and for free. Today people are using the internet also to perform all kinds of tasks and to organize information. Web 2.0 applications are considered extremely usefull in creating a collaborative platform.
