When I first started my quest to make my first million online I stepped into the black forest where I was promptly noticed by a seasoned Internet Marketer. This is a short version of just some of the pain, the pleasure and the expensive lessons I have experienced on this journey. So this seasoned Internet Marketer in essence said “so you want to learn Internet marketing but you are having problems.” He went on to show how he had the “solutions.” After a number of free valuable content webinars and thinking I knew what I was talking about, I was sucked into a $2,000 purchase. The disks were all about Traffic Generation. Now he knew I didn’t have a website or a blog. He knew I didn’t know how to put one up. Knowing all this he still sold me information on how to drive traffic to the hole in the ground where my website and blogs would someday reside. Yes, I played my part in this too.

It would serve no purpose to mention the name of that seasoned high earning marketer or the company. In the past eight months or so I found all sorts of people making money and not making money all with tools to teach me how to get rich overnight. “Make your first $10,000 in less than 12 hours!” My naïve goal when I started was to make money while I slept. Then get up each morning and check my overnight income while enjoying my first cup of coffee. Have you ever had the same thought? Needless to say, it hasn’t turned out that way. Can it be done? I'm sure it can. I'll never give up and neither should you.

Hopefully beginners today will have an easier time of it. There are far too many “take no prisoners” marketers out there but there are also those who offer genuine value for your money. I don’t want you to think they are all like the one I met on my first venture out. 

Moving on to happier times I know now that if someone had told me in the beginning what I needed to do, I could have simply taken the time and built my piece of Internet Real Estate from the ground up. In other words, I would have started at the beginning and built my Internet Real Estate on a solid foundation of knowledge and monetization.

Yes we all got out of bed this morning to make some money but many of us also look forward to the opportunity to help someone today. The best job in the world is when you can make a bit of money while helping other people.
