New Edition was the boy singing group from the late 80's. The group came from Boston, Massachusetts Orchard Park Housing Projects. Members of the New Edition group was Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe and later Johnny Gill. New Edition would go on to record R&B songs with Streetwise, MCA, Bad Boy, and Interscope recording labels. The group later broke into two separate groups "Bell Biv DeVoe" and "LSG". Some members of the New Edition group went on to solo careers.

Bobby Brown in 1986 left the group New Edition.  However, Bobby Brown wasn't done making music.  Brown started a solo career without New Edition.  In 1988, Bobby Brown hit the charts with "Don't Be Cruel". Other Bobby Brown songs:

As of 2008, a new group has been formed out of the (old) New Edition group called "Heads of State".  Heads of State consist of Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill.  The new group is currently working on an album to be released in 2009.
