Poem - Into The Night -- Separated Lovers
61As she tips over empty on her maiden voyage, I think myself a sailor passing through the night. A fine wine has been enjoyed by this loan ship . . . . passing through the night. Is the bottle empty or just full of air? Her sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Am I a drunkard? Ney! I am but the sailor longing for shore. To be embraced by solid ground. The passing of the wine, so dark and deep, will make the night so lonely a bit more sweet. Tonight you are there whilst I'm here . . ..passing though the night . . . . swaying back and forth, high and low.
No call tonight . . . only glee of the thought of you .. . . holding me tight. I know our thoughts are shared of starry skies . ... beneath the moon way up high . . . slipping into oneness we should be, for our time apart .. . seems . . .too very long.
Tonight I shall be with you if only thought this empty sight . . . of a glass shared alone. Tomorrow a dawn's day comes true, but for now a night's thought warmed with me holding you. I shall drink a toast on this cruse of time of depleted spirits engulfed in aft hindsight . . . staring into the heavens . .. as they pass . .. into the night.
