Invicta Subaqua offers arguably the brand's most exuberant, complicated, and visually attractive watches. There are other Invicta collections that match the Subaqua in one, or even two of these parameters, but I can't think of one that excels similarly at all three. The energy emanating from these timepieces is boundless – a particularly important trait in underwater conditions, where energy, translated to oxygen, is sparse.

Design

Invicta Subaqua design is notable for its extra-wide unidirectional bezels, protected crown, submarine-like hands, and multi-layered and textured bracelets. Indeed, multiplicity of layers – be it in materials, complications, or dial organization – is the main concept that drives, and makes the Subaqua an effective collection of watches. Let's examine some separate subcollections:

  • Subaqua Noma: Diver's chronograph's with such luxurious embellishments as diamonds, mother-of-pearl, gold or black ionic plating. The timers include an additional day-date display, and feature purely mechanical Swiss automatic movements. Here the colors are more or less restricted by what the metal or materials dictate.

  • Subaqua Sport Chrono: carry all the features of Noma, but without most of the luxury. The core of the collection, Sport Chrono can be outlandishly exuberant (“in assortment of colors”), or surprisingly almost working class strict. Synthetic Polyurethane bracelets with inserts of stainless steel give this line a mark of its own.

  • Subaqua Chronographs focus on clarity of dial designs, continuing to experiment with rare materials – carbon fiber in this case. These pieces, almost all stainless steel made, show so much metal as to appear intimidating.

  • Subaqua Venom, a guest from the Reserve line, adds a touch of focus by contrasting the black ionic steel of the case and bracelet with venomous yellow and orange of the dial background. No numerals except on the bezel – a strict professional approach that discards anything not absolutely necessary.

All watches are water resistant from 300 up to 500 meters.

Subaqua Ladies

Subaqua includes a solid Ladies line that offers smaller watches, made delicate by the use of leather or rubber straps, colored sunray dials, and diamonds. Because of the softer bands, the lugs suddenly come into view, creating a handbag-like appearance, and adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design. Aficionados will spot some vague Audemars Piguet references.
