Iphone 3G review– no gimmick
62
When iphonefinally hit the market, there was a wave of glee felt in the market among, prospective and non- prospective users both. And why it shouldn’t be there as iphone 3G promises a lot more exhilarating features. So we all are excited! GPS, HSDPA buzz under the new iPhone hood with a magnanimous number of software enhancements. Let’s dissect it from top to bottom.
Packaging
The awesome retail package accentuates the exclusivity of the iphone 3G. The white version comes in a white box. The box contains iphone 3G accessories like the new charger which is much more compact, the white coloured stereo headset white again and the docking station. Unfortunately, the old docking station is incompatible with the iPhone 3G due to the curved back panel.
Aesthetics and craftsmanship
The iPhone 3G has increased by a millimeter in all directions as compared with the iPhone 1G. The metallic rim around the front panel is thinner now and there's the all-plastic curved back. Screen quality is the usual high standard, with the best sunlight legibility. The controls are made of metal and have silver finish. The biggest change is the absence of 3.5mm audio jack. The SIM card tray is now plastic instead of the original all-metal design. 3G have wonderful displays.
General user interface
Multi-Tasking is not available and the iPhone 2.0 firmware is there for all software enhancements. The automatic screen rotation happens to be slower than the one on iPhone 1G. The screenshot capability is right out-of-blue. The password-protection feature can be applied to some tasks and applications such as the iPod, Safari, YouTube, iTunes and the AppStore. The copy/paste function is still missing.
Multimedia and audio quality
Exploring photos, music and videos similar to how it went in iPhone 1G. The audio quality of the iPhone 3G is flawless as expected. It’s a great sound experience altogether.
Other features
The contacts are easier to locate in iphone 3G as compared to iphone 1G. The Messaging is still basic except for email. The 3G with HSDPA is unquestionably way faster than EDGE. The absence of video recording might be a disappointment; however geotagging is there on the courtesy of the built-in GPS receiver. Web browser is better now and the most impressive full touch user interface till date with the concept of AppStore is path breaking. There are some unique features that you can hardly get in any other high-end gadgets we leave for you to unleash as you will be delighted.
Areas of improvement
Everything is perfect but still there are some points which need to addressed
- The dialling would have Smart dialling as available in most of the phones.
- The accommodation for plug-ins such as upcoming appointments and events, weather, stocks, news, RSS feeds, etc in the lock screen.
- If Wireless manager would have made features like turning on/off 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth etc much more user-friendly.
- The tangible button for camera would have been appreciated.
- Some supplementary iphone 3G accessories would have delighted customers.

I just ordered an iPhone. I'm very technology-challenged and hope that I will be able to use it for all it's features. I was playing with the one in the store today, and I couldn't figure out how to backspace while texting, and when I tried to type letters, I kept hitting the wrong ones. I guess that will come with use, though.
Do you know what applications come loaded on the phone, or does it vary by the carrier?
I'd love to have any additional info on this phone, because I know I'm about to be challenged GREATLY!
yes i knw this is very usual problem with iphone....even same thing happen with me...other than that you can use stylus which are available in market but still it wont be as perfect as physical keywords.just keep practising and slowly it will be alrite...initially cant except that much speed in texting...
i hope this solution will help you as excatly i do the same....have a great time.
Thanks, Britney! I'll let you know how it goes! I was scared to peek at your hub about the most expensive accessories. I'd hate to get my hopes up...... :-)

and try to explore some more i am sure you will find something really good...
thanx have a great time...
I've been checking stuff out online, so thanks for another resource! Some of it is still pretty confusing. We pay for a texting package, but it appears there is a texing app that supposedly gives you unlimited texting both in and out. I'm not sure why I would need to pay a monthly fee for it, if I can just buy the app for 5.99. Anyway, I'll figure it out.
But don't be surprised if I'm back with more questions!!!
anyhow...ok i am leaving it on you now and yes you are always welcome...
Can't the iPhone also get damaged by the oils on your face getting under the screen?

This Is The Best Mobile Phone Ever I Have Heard. Latest 3G Technology Is It's Best Functionality But It's a Bit Costlier than other 3G enabled mobile Phones. But Finally It is the best one and the Biggest Rival Of All Latest Mobile Phones From Almost All Mobile Phone Manufacturers.
