With the recent death of the founder of the great hotdog franchise Oscar Mayer, Iraqi girls have been Twittering lately about how much they enjoy a good weenie.  As many as 1000 of these arab-speaking gals have endorsed, by implication, it would seem, how much they love an Oscar Mayer wiener, which comes as a surprise to anyone who knows anything about Arab peoples--who generally do not go for pork based foods.

Speaking on behalf of the Twitter website, Veronica Jailbate said today:

"It is really extraordinary how many Iraqi girls are coming out now and admitting to eating weenies...many of them speak of the hotdog as a 'food of the gods' and as 'a real treat if you can get your hands on one...'

We think that Twitter has allowed the previously repressed girls to come out and tell their deepest secrets, including the culinary ones like the joys of eating weenies. What is surprising is that they talk about it as if it were a forbidden subject--something they have to hide from their parents.

One example is that of Arabyeh who writes " I have a weenie twice a week and sometimes put some mustard on it first so I can lick and suck it off...yummers!"

It is rumored that the Oscar Mayer Wiener-Mobile may come to Damascus soon so that they can encourage more Iraqi girls to eat weenies.
