Irfan Pathan -Bowled over by girl down under?

He may send many a heart racing and many women may be seen swooning over his bowling and batting capacities, but this time around India's very own 'sultan of swing' -- Irfan Pathan -- is reported to have been bowled over by a damsel from down under. The girl in question is Shivangi Dev, who is said to be the daughter of an Indian diplomat based in Canberra.

It was in January 2007 when Irfan was reportedly finding it difficult to concentrate on his game in a Ranji tie against Uttar Pradesh at the Reliance Stadium City because his attention was diverted. Reports suggest that Irfan Pathan could not help but keep glancing at a girl sitting near the boundary line. The girl -- Shivangi -- was seen cheering ecstatically for each of Pathan's boundaries on the last day of the Ranji match.

Reportedly the fast bowler -- Irfan Pathan -- was conspicuous with his absence, when Team India was felicitated for their historic win down under in the Commonwealth Bank series at New Delhi on Friday 7th March, 2008. The BCCI was left behind to do the explanation of Irfan's absence in the homecoming. BCCI Officials reportedly said that Irfan stayed back in Australia for 'personal reasons' being the ill-health of a close relative in Australia.
