Iriver

Iriver (previously known as ‘iRiver'), a brand and division of ReignCom, is a renowned manufacturer of digital audio players and numerous other portable products. Iriver, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, is the consumer electronics marketing arm of ReignCom and was established in 1999 by seven former Samsung executives. The company provides an extensive array of products such as USB mass storage, the Media Transfer Protocol, multiple codecs, FM tuners, recording capabilities, and upgradeable firmware.

The recently launched products of Iriver have been integrated with the capability to play MP3 and WMA audio files. Certain units are even equipped with features such as text viewing, Ogg Vorbis audio files, Macromedia Flash, and/or BMP files. Iriver also supports Microsoft PlaysForSure, which enables subscription-based music download services in the latest products to such as URGE, Napster, Rhapsody, and Yahoo! Music Unlimited. It also allows users to disable the DRM functionality. An innovative feature of the newer iriver players is the direct MP3-recording capability with chosen bitrate of internal (FM, microphone) and external (line) sources.

Most iriver players feature multilingual display in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, support Winamp playlists and enable repeat, shuffle play, and programmable functions. Some of the players are incorporated with preset and user-defined EQ settings, an in-built FM tuner and an exceptional feature called study mode, by which users can shift tracks quickly within a specific time interval, usually set from three to 180 seconds. The option was designed to help people listening to recorded language lessons. The latest suite of E10 Hard-disk based players hosts certain incredible features including a remote control for TV, capability to Flash files, videos and FM radio. The player features recording capabilities for both voice and FM radio and supports PlaysForSure as well as UMS.

iriver clix, the company's flagship product, was first launched as a rebranded U10 player. However, it was redesigned this year with the introduction of the 2nd generation player. Both the first and the second generation of the clix are among the highest rated mp3 players and have won high critical acclaim.

The iriver H300 are a series of hard disk based multi-codec music jukebox player which comprises two models namely; the iriver H320 and the iriver H340. In addition to playing music, the player has the capability to transfer pictures directly from digital cameras and UMS-compatible devices including flash drives and displaying digital images on a color screen. The player is facilitated to play movies at 10 frames per second with Xvid encoding. The recently launched iRiver S10 is an mp3 player which measures approximately about 42 x 30 x 10.8 mm in size and weighs around 18grams. The iRiver mp3 player has an amazing of 2GB and a 1.15inch display. The player has the capability to transfer files at about 3.1MB/sec.
