Is Barack Obama the Antichrist? Do You Care?
61Barack Obama is not a man I am going to vote for, but it is not because I think he is the Antichrist. I honestly have no idea if he is or is not. I do not throw out blind accusations in that manner. This article is not my personal opinion, rather, an exploration of why this accusation exists.
I repeat... I do not have any idea if Obama is the Antichrist, and I am not asserting that he is. I am simply addressing the issue as it stands.
Senator Barack Obama has widely been circulated to be the Antichrist on the web, in political ads, and in several churches across the Country. This assertion is one that most people dismiss with a flip of the hand, and a turning of the cheek.
For most Christians, it is not quite that easy.
When one considers the term Antichrist what do they think of?
Charismatic? Check.
World leader? Check.
Hugely Popular? Check.
Leader of men? Check.
Capable of controlling a large number of people blindly? Check.
Muslim descent? Check.
Popular among multiple nations? Check.
The list goes on...
Barack Obama being the Anti-Christ is not so far fetched to a Christian. We all are entitled to our beliefs, and Christians have that same right. If Christians wish to believe that Obama is the Antichrist, then this is a Christian's right.
The difference is that people have different views on what the Antichrist is. To the Christian, the Antichrist is not some fable from an old book. To a Christian, the Antichrist is as real as the air that they breathe.
Of course, others believe in no God, other Gods, and everything in between. That is the non-believer's right as well.
Quite simply put, Barack Obama does fit the bill. This is not to say that Barack Obama is, in fact, the Antichrist. The point is, Obama is the most viable candidate in our present day.
He is also not the first to come along.
At various times, their have been others. Hitler was thought to be the Antichrist. Saddam was thought to be the Antichrist. Elvis was thought to be the Antichrist after already being dead for Heaven's sakes. Obama is simply the latest one to acquire the label.
Obama will rise or fall based on the decisions of voters, and some of those voters are Christians. That is the simple bottom line to the whole "Obama is the Antichrist" issue. Christians have their opinions too.
Much of the Obama/Antichrist is due to the clear affiliations with sordid characters that pepper Obama's past. The whole fiasco with Wright, Ayers, and others have put Obama's motivations into question.
People are judged on some level by the company they keep.The end result of this is that Christians believe that the Antichrist is coming. Barack Obama fits the profile in many ways.
It stands to reason, then, that Christians will make that connection on some levels. If they believe in their heart that this man is the Antichrist, then that is a right afforded to them by our Constitution.

One of my good African Christian friend once told me that in Africa black muslims and black christians do not team up. Being a presbyterian myself, an elderly East Asian muslim man once asked me to quit my religion when i was only 12 yrs old. He told me Christ was a child borne out of an immoral Mary.Obama, being brought up in such environments and that too under an atheist mother by his side, has to have such mindset otherwise if he was a real Christian at heart he would have set out as missionary in Indonesia.He wants power and where ever he goes, whether he's in Harvard or the Senate, he's popular. Many of you might not imagine being a minority, let's see how immigrants and the power of unworthy nations rise up after he's elected!

I'm voting for Barack Obama and Joe Biden, but not because I think John McCain is a carbon copy of George W. Bush or that Sarah Palin in an airhead. If people think McCain is un-American because he picked a vice presidential candidate for purely political reasons, or that Palin is a religious freak, they certainly have the right to think what they like.
Blah, blah, blah. This is crazy!! I am voting for obama because he is my familys only hope for me and my husband to pay our bills. If Hilliary was the candidate, I am sure the Christian freaks would say she was the antichrist. Why can't it be Palin? What is an "antiChrist" anyway. If I believed there were such a thing, I'd put my money on Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld, or David Addington, or John Yoo.

Good points made Rodney and although you say you won't be voting for him, I think you were successful in conveying your thoughts in a way which appears neutral.
Just my 2 cents as a Christian woman, I do not necessarily think Obama is THE antichrist, but I do believe he is an antichrist. I spend more time in prayer than I do discussing the subject but if someone brings it up, I'm apt to comment since I am outspoken and have an opinion. I have an auntie who is a Christian also (and I believe she'll be casting her vote for Obama) who became angry me since I commented Obama can't possibly be a Christian. She questioned who am I to say such a thing, not knowing his heart. I responded by saying look at his positions on the issues (and how they conveniently change at times) and the reputations and things said or done by those he chooses (or has chosen) to affiliate himself. She had no further comment.
I think he is a scary guy (not that any believers should live in fear were he to become elected the next leader of this country). In my opinion, many have been fooled by some of the points you made on the "check" list.
