If you have done any sort of hiking or backpacking in wilderness areas that contain bears you owe yourself to own and carry powerful bear pepper spray.

The spray has been shown to be effective against bear attacks and thwarting aggressive bears.

Now, I personally have never had to use bear pepper spray, but I have come up against bears on a few occasions. One time it was a black bear with two yearling cubs in tow. I was mountain biking and rounded a corner surprising the sow as they crossed the road. Luckily for me she remained calmed and hurried her cubs across the road and up the embankment into the brush.

The second time I came within forty yards of a grizzly sow with a new born cub. She was very angry and let me know it by bluff charging me and my companions several times while her cub climbed a tree and cried in distress the entire time. To see this bear bluff charge was not only very frightening but intensely impressive. They are big, fast and ferocious animals and until you see one up close in this manner you have no idea how much you want to be carrying protection at the ready if you dare to traverse in bear country.

When you enter the back country you are in their domain and you had better be cautious, alert and ready at all times. Bear Pepper Spray is one of the most effective protections against bear attacks known to man.

Anytime that I go into the wilderness areas I now carry Guard Alaska Bear Repellent and I would, as one outdoorsmen to another, highly recommend the product to you.
