Cote de Pablo, of NCIS fame, was born María José de Pablo Fernández on November 12, 1979. As of the writing of this hub, she is not married.

That is right, as far as I know Cote de Pablo is not married.

This question was raised in my mind in considering the question of whether or not Cote de Pablo is pregnant. If she is pregnant, then it would make sense that she were married or at least seeing someone - but I don't know if that is even true.

I know in today's American culture it would not be that big of a deal for an attractive young woman to become pregnant outside of the institution of marriage, but Cote de Pablo is not a US citizen by birth. She comes from a upper class Chilean family.

To be Chilean and upper class invariable means that her family is Catholic, and Catholics (especially conservative, practicing Catholics) tend to look down upon both sex outside of marriage and pregnancies outside of marriage.

But, it is important to point out, Cote de Pablo did not grow up in Chile all her life. From the time she was 10 years of age her family immigrated to the US so that her mother could pursue a career as a news anchor woman. So from the age of 10 onwards de Pablo has lived in the US, where sex outside of marriage is considered the norm and pregnancies outside of marriage are certainly not rare.

The value system in her home probably did not change, but the wealthy of Miami certainly do not have any qualms with having sex or children outside of marriage.

I haven't the foggiest idea. She is obviously pretty and successful, but it could be that her success doesn't leave her much time to date and get to know someone well enough to commit to that type of relationship. I'm not even sure that she has time to date anyone given her work ethic on the set of NCIS and her budding music career.

There simply isn't enough time to get married!

This seems to be the norm for more and more professional young women, especially in our culture that pushes off child bearing well into a woman's thirties.

So I say to Cote de Pablo, don't rush getting married and finding "Mr. Right" - take your time, enjoy life and have fun. But from the perspective of someone who is married it has been one of the most blessed things that I have ever done and it has brought me more happiness than almost anything else in my life.
