Is Mandatory Health Insurance the Answer?

Mandatory health insurance is playing a huge part in the presidential debates. Many politicians believe that every American needs health insurance. This may or may not be true, it may not be necessary for every single American to have health insurance but it is true that every single American can benefit from health insurance. According to the US Census, more than half of all uninsured adults are between the ages of 18 and 34. This age range offers the lowest rates to individuals because they are often the healthiest adults. Being the healthiest adults, they do not see a need for health insurance but there is always a benefit in possessing health insurance.

Presidential candidates like Clinton and Obama believe that nationally mandated health insurance is a cure-all answer for the healthcare problem in the US. But will this country benefit from more government mandates? On the Republican side of things, most believe government socialized medicine will have a negative impact on our country. The best part of the US healthcare system is that with the right coverage, you can get the medical attention you deserve, which also draws many foreign persons to our country. The truth is, the US healthcare system needs some work, not government mandates.
