What is Think And Grow Rich

Napoleon Hill seems to be rewarding millions of entepreneurs find success through temporary defeat with his book Think and Grow Rich. Napoleon Hill was asked by the famous Andrew Carnegie if he could write about the secret which has made fortunes for more than 500 exceedingly wealthy men spending more than 20 years preparing, Napoleon Hill to take it to the world, to men and women who, without the secret, might go through life as failures. Since it's introduction in 1937 it has remained one of the most popular books sold around the world.

This article contains some of my favorite teachings that Napoleon Hill has brought to the Network Marketers who have gone through many defeats to achieve success. Napoleon Hill describes the famous Andrew Carnegieformula of personal achievement who accumulated millions of dollars and made a score of millionaires of men and women whome he taught his secret.

In chapter one of Think and Grow Rich Edwin C Barnes is described as someone who had a definite purpose and that purpose was to become a business associate of Thomas Edison. Despite Mr. Edwin Barnes looking like an ordinary tramp and with no means to get to New Jersey to achieve his goal he decided to travel on a frieght train than be defeated.

Everything was definitely against him but when Mr. Barnes met Mr. Edison. It was far less important of what Mr. Barnes said but more important what he thought. Mr. Barnes did not get a chance to work as a partner on his first interview but he did get a chance to display his merchandise while working in Mr. Edison's offices doing work that was unimportant. He was determined to remain ready until he got that opportunity he was seeking. When the opportunity appeared it came disguised not as misfortune or temporary defeat. Perhaps this is why so many fail to recognize opportunity.

Mr. Edison perfected a new device, known at that time as the Edison Dictating Machine (now the Edi phone). His Salesmen did not believe it could be sold. Mr. Barnes had his chance and Edison gave him a contract to distribute and market it all over the nation. Out of that association grew the slogan, "Made by Edison and installed by Barnes".The business alliance was in operation for more than 30 years and made Mr. Barnes not only rich in money but proved that one really may "Think and Grow Rich".

Guglielmo Marconi had "friends" that had him taken into custody, and examined in a psychopathic hospital when he had announced he could send messages through the air, without the aid of wires, or other direct means of communication. Marconi's dream of a system of harnessing the intangible forces of the ether came true and made it possible the people of every nation to be back door neighbors. The dreamers of today fare better. The world of today has been accustomed to new discoveries.

The Think and Grow Rich says tolerance and an open mind are necessities of the dreamer of today. Those who are afraid of new ideas are doomed before they start. To win the big stakes in this Changed World you must catch the spirit of the great pioneers of the past, whose dreams have given civilization all that it has to value, the spirit that serves as the life blood of our country - your opportunity and mine, to develop and market our talents.

Henry Ford is acknowledged for his persistence of making his engineers make a V8 engine when they were still telling him it couldn't be done. The Think and Grow Rich book says an educated man is not, necessarily, one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge but is one who has developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants or it's equivalent, without violating the rights of others.

Napoleon Hills book "Think and Grow Rich" proves this with a story on the suite brought against, a Chicago newspaper for calling Henry Ford an ignorant man. The attorneys for the newspaper placed Mr. Ford on the stand, for the purpose of proving to the jury that he was ignorant. Mr. Ford was asked questions such as"who was Benedict Arnold" and "How many soldiers did the British send over to America to put down the Rebellion of 1776?" Mr Ford replied "I do not know the exact number but I have heard it was a considerably larger number than ever went back. Mr. Ford growing tired of the line of questioning leaned over, and in a reply to a particularly offensive question, said "If I should really want to answer the foolish questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer any question I desire to ask concerning the business to which I am devoting most of my efforts. Now, will you kindly tell me why I should clutter up my mind with general knowledge, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require. That answer floored the lawyer. Through the assistance of his Master Mind group, Henry Ford had at his command all the specialized knowledge he needed to become one of the wealthiest men in America.

Lincoln dreamed of freedom for the black slaves and barely missed living to see a united North and South translate his dream into reality.

The Wright Brothers dreamed of a machine that would fly through the air. Now one may see evidence all over the world.

The "Think and Grow Rich" book also has information on how Faith is a state of mind which is created by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind draws upon the forces of Infinite Intelligence for the power with which it voluntarily transmutes one's desires into their physical equivalent, The "Think And Grow Rich ebook" also suggests to you that thoughts of fear and poverty, and all negative thoughts, serve to your subconscious mind. It also suggests that If you fail to plant desires in your subconscious mind, it will feed upon the thoughts that reach it as the result of your neglect. Some of these impulses are negative and some positive. If you fill your mind with fear, doubt, and unbelief in your ability to connect with and use forces of, Infinite Intelligence, the law of autosuggestion will take this spirit of unbelief and use it as a pattern of which your subconscious mind will translate it into it's physical equivalent.

Desire is thought impulse. Thought impulses are forms of energy. When you begin with the thought impulse, Desire, to accumulate money, you are drafting into your service the same stuff that nature used in creating the earth, and every material form in the universe, including the body and brain in which the thought impulses function. The Napoleon Hill "Think and Grow Rich" talks about this in a way that should be important to anyone wanting to achieve success.

Autosuggestion as described by Napoleon Hill : Thoughts which are mixed with any of the feelings of emotions constitute a magnetic force which attracts, from the vibrations of the ether (the heavens or substance formally supposed to occupy all space), other similar, or related thoughts.

You'd be surprised how accurate his book is regarding the ways that businesses should have changed after the depression. Instead, they went on a very similar path to the destruction that took place then, and now we have a **whatever** -- call it a recession or depression, I don't care. The warning signs were there, Mr. Hill wrote about them. He gives a prescription for getting out of it, if you actually dare to listen. It takes little transcription of the values of the banks back then to regard the banks right now, the insurance agencies, the realtors who jumped on the bandwagon when times were good now used to a lifestyle they can't support, etc. Nothing Hill says is dated in my mind. It may or may not apply to network marketers, but it sure does apply to the world around us now.
